Hilversum
Hilversum is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Located in the region called "'t Gooi", it is the largest town in that area. It is surrounded by heathland, woods, meadows, lakes, and smaller villages. Hilversum is part of the Randstad, one of the largest conurbations in Europe.
Eurovision Song Contest 1958
The Eurovision Song Contest 1958 was the third Eurovision Song Contest and was held on 12 March 1958 in Hilversum. The convention that the winning country from a year hosted the following year's contest was introduced in this year. France's win was their first. It was the last time to date that the United Kingdom did not enter the contest. Unlike the first competition in 1956, the 1958 contest continued with the policy implemented in 1957 wherein each country was limited to one song entry.

Loosdrecht
Loosdrecht is a village in the municipality of Wijdemeren, North Holland, Netherlands. Loosdrecht consists of two small villages, Nieuw- (new) and Oud- (old) Loosdrecht. Nieuw Loosdrecht is a densely populated urbanization; Oud-Loosdrecht consists mainly of lakeside villas. Until 2002 Loosdrecht was a separate municipality in the province of Utrecht, covering the villages of Oud-Loosdrecht and Nieuw-Loosdrecht, and the hamlets Breukeleveen, Muyeveld, and Boomhoek.

Ankeveen is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies about 5 km west of Bussum. In 2001, the town of Ankeveen had 707 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.11 km², and contained 280 residences. The statistical district "Ankeveen", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1610. There are plans to establish a centre for refugees in Ankeveen.

In 2001, the town of Oud-Loosdrecht had 471 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.08 km², and contained 193 residences. The statistical district "Oud-Loosdrecht", which covers the village and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1770.

Maarsseveen
Maarsseveen is a former village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It was located on the east bank of the Vecht River, opposite the village of Maarssen, and has now been completely absorbed by that town. It makes part of the municipality of Stichtse Vecht. From 1815 to 1949, Maarsseveen was a separate municipality. Apart from the village itself, the municipality covered the polder Maarsseveen, and the village of Oud-Maarsseveen.
Breukeleveen
Breukeleveen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the municipality of Wijdemeren, and lies southwest of Loosdrecht. The hamlet consists of a single street between two lakes. At the north end, it borders the hamlet of Muyeveld, and on the south end it borders Tienhoven in the province of Utrecht. The hamlet is named after the nearby town of Breukelen.

Hilversum Airport
Hilversum Airport is a general aviation airport 2.2 NM south-southwest of Hilversum, a municipality and town in the Het Gooi region and the province of North Holland in the Netherlands. The airport has three grass runways, 07/25, 13/31 and 18/36 with the respective lengths of 600 m, 660 m and 700 m . An asphalt runway is planned in the near future. The majority of flights are with smaller single engine piston aircraft, either for training or recreational purposes.

Zonnestraal (estate)
The estate Zonnestraal is a former sanatorium in Hilversum, Netherlands. The building was designed by architect Jan Duiker and is an example of the Nieuwe Bouwen. In 1995, the estate was submitted to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites, and it is currently on the tentative list.

Auberge Postillion de la Provence is a former restaurant located in Laren, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the periods 1974-1989. Head chef in the Michelin period was Han de Wijs. The restaurant was founded in the 1960s by Martin Fagel. In 1969, he sold the restaurant to Han de Wijs. In 1989, De Wijs sold the restaurant to Stage Door B.V. , who went bankrupt in 1995. In July 1995, shortly after the bankruptcy, the restaurant burnt down.
De Kastanjehof
Restaurant De Kastjehof is a hotel-restaurant located in Lage Vuursche, in the Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1990 and 1991. In the period 2000-2002 the restaurant was awarded a Bib Gourmand. At the time of the Michelin stars, head chef was Wulf Engel. In 1991, he sold the restaurant to his, by then, ex-wife Marianne and left the restaurant. As a consequences, the restaurant lost its Michelin star.
Spandershoeve
Spandershoeve is a restaurant located in Hilversum, in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in the period 1998-2007. On the loss of their star, they did receive a Bib Gourmand what they have retained until 2012. Spandershoeve was the first restaurant with an Indonesian styled kitchen to receive a Michelin star. Gault Millau awarded the restaurant 13 out of 20 points. Head chef of Spandershoeve is Jordie James.
Netherlands Fortress Museum
The Netherlands Fortress Museum (Nederlands Vestingmuseum) is located in the city of Naarden, in The Netherlands. The Museum was established in 1955 in the Turfpoort Bastion, one of the six bastions that give the walled city its distinctive star shape. (During World War II, allied bombers returning to Great Britain from bombing missions used it as a marker. ) The fortifications themselves, including the bastions, date to the period 1675-1685.
