' is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland.
Het Schip
Het Schip ("The Ship") is an apartment building in the Spaarndammerbuurt district of Amsterdam, built in the architectural style of the Amsterdam School of Expressionist architecture. It is the single most important example of this style of architecture, using the Brick Expressionism version. The building was designed by Michel de Klerk. The building vaguely resembles the outlines of a ship. Its appearance is very unconventional from all angles.

The Gouden Reael is a traditional designation for an area of the city of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. It consists of the current neighborhood Westelijke Eilanden ("Western Islands", i.e. Prinseneiland, Bickerseiland and Realeneiland) plus the Westerdokseiland, Haarlemmerbuurt and Planciusbuurt. A 'Gouden Reael' was a Spanish coin from the 16th century.

The Noordermarkt ("Northern Market") is a square in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The square is lined by cafés and restaurants. Markets are held on the square every Monday. On Saturdays, a popular organic farmer's market is held on the square. On Mondays a market (mainly for textiles) is also held in the adjacent Westerstraat street. Noordermarkt dates back to 1616 and was originally named Prinsenmarkt, after the Prinsengracht canal which the square borders.

EYE Film Institute Netherlands
EYE Film Institute Netherlands is located in the Overhoeks neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It includes a cinematography museum formerly called Filmmuseum, founded in 1952. Its predecessor was the Dutch Historic Film Archive, founded in 1946. The museum was situated in the Vondelparkpaviljoen since 1975, and in 2009, plans were announced for a new home for the museum on the northern bank of Amsterdam's waterfront. It was officially opened on April 4, 2012 by Queen Beatrix.

Coen Tunnel
The Coen Tunnel (1966) is a tunnel under the North Sea Canal in western Amsterdam. The tunnel is named after the Coen port in the vicinity which was named after Jan Pieterszoon Coen. The tunnel itself is 1283 metres long of which 587 metres are fully covered. The tunnel connects the Zaan district with the western part of Amsterdam. The tunnel reaches a maximum depth of 22 metres.
Second Coen Tunnel
The Second Coen Tunnel is a tunnel under the North Sea Canal, next to the existing Coen Tunnel in Amsterdam, currently under construction. The tunnel will be built in combination with a new highway connection, the Westrandweg, to the A5 motorway. The tunnel will consist of 3 fixed lanes and two variable lanes which will be opened in the direction which traffic is the heaviest.

Vrijburg
Vrijburg is an historic clandestine church concealed behind a row of houses fronting on the Keizersgracht, Amsterdam. It is situated in the center of the block, with houses on all four sides and no frontage on any public street. Vrijburg was built between 1629 and 1631 to serve Amsterdam's Remonstrant Protestants, who were not allowed to hold worship services in a manner visible by the public. Unlike many clandestine churches, the Vrijburg is a substantial, freestanding building.

Sloterdijk train collision
The Sloterdijk train collision occurred at 18:30 local time on 21 April 2012, when two trains collided head-on at Westerpark, near Sloterdijk, in the west of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Around 117 people were injured, one of whom later died in a hospital. The collision is thought to have been caused by the driver of one of the trains having passed a red signal.
