Amsterdam (VOC ship)
The Amsterdam was an 18th-century cargo ship of the Dutch East India Company. The ship started its maiden voyage from Texel to Batavia on 8 January 1749, but was wrecked in a storm on the English Channel on 26 January 1749. The shipwreck was discovered in 1969 in the bay of Bulverhythe, United Kingdom, and is sometimes visible during low tides. The wreck site is protected under the Protection of Wrecks Act since 1974.
Damrak
The Damrak is a partially filled in canal at the centre of Amsterdam, between Amsterdam Centraal railway station and Dam Square, running north-south. It is the main street where people arriving at the station enter the centre of Amsterdam. Also it is one of the two GVB tram routes from the station into the centre, with lines 4, 9, 16, 24, and 25 running down it.
NEMO (museum)
Science Center NEMO is a science center in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is located at the Oosterdok in Amsterdam-Centrum, situated between the Oosterdokseiland and Kattenburg. The museum has its origins in 1923, and is housed in a building designed by Renzo Piano since 1997. It contains five floors of hands-on science exhibitions and is the largest science center in the Netherlands. It attracts annually over 500,000 visitors, which makes it the fourth most visited museum in the Netherlands.
Amsterdam-Noord
Amsterdam-Noord (in English: Amsterdam-North or North Amsterdam) is an autonomous stadsdeel of Amsterdam. The area is located north of the IJ, the body of water which separates it from central Amsterdam and the rest of the city. On the northwest and northern side it borders the municipalities of Zaanstad, Oostzaan, Landsmeer and Waterland.
Buiksloot
Buiksloot is a former village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is now a neighbourhood of Amsterdam-Noord. Buiksloot was a separate municipality until 1921, when it was merged with Amsterdam.
Basilica of St. Nicholas, Amsterdam
The Basilica of St. Nicholas (or Sint-Nicolaasbasiliek in Dutch) is located in the Old Centre district of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is the city's major Catholic church. Officially the church was called St. Nicholas inside the Walls, i.e. the oldest part of the Amsterdam defence works. The architect, Adrianus Bleijs (1842-1912) designed the church basing himself on a combination of several revival styles of which Neo-Baroque and neo-Renaissance are the most prominent models.
Schreierstoren
The Schreierstoren, originally part of the medieval city wall of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, was built in the 15th century. It was the location from which Henry Hudson set sail on his journey to Northern America. This expedition would lead to the discovery of the island of Manhattan among others. It was built as a defense tower in 15th century. It is currently a café. The old name was 'Schreyhoeckstoren' meaning in old Dutch the sharp angle of the tower with the once connected citywalls.

This school is the music division of the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, the city's vocational university of arts. The Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CVA) is the largest music academy in the Netherlands, offering programs in classical music, jazz, early music, music education, and opera.

Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ
Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is a concert hall for contemporary classical music on the IJ in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The building opened in 2005 and is located above the IJtunnel, a ten-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station. The building was designed by Danish architects 3XN. The Bimhuis is part of and partly integrated in the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. The first director was Jan Wolff (2005–2008); Tino Haenen has been artistic director since June 2008.
Bimhuis
The Bimhuis is a concert hall for jazz and improvised music in Amsterdam. With an average of 150 performances a year the Bimhuis is the main stage for these musical genres in the Netherlands. The Bimhuis was founded in 1973. Until the summer of 2004 it was located at Oude Schans 73-77 in the centre of the city. Since January 2005 it is housed in a new building at the Piet Heinkade 3, next to the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, on the southern bank of the IJ river.
Warmoesstraat
Warmoesstraat is one of the oldest streets in Amsterdam, running parallel to the river Amstel from Amsterdam Centraal railway station to Dam Square. Its origins are in the 13th century. In the 16th and 17th century it was the shopping street. The poet Joost van den Vondel sold silk stockings here. Today, the busy Warmoesstraat has a variety shops, bars, restaurants, cheap hotels, coffee shops and sex boutiques. The Prostitution Information Center is also located there.
EYE Film Institute Netherlands
EYE Film Institute Netherlands is located in the Overhoeks neighborhood of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It includes a cinematography museum formerly called Filmmuseum, founded in 1952. Its predecessor was the Dutch Historic Film Archive, founded in 1946. The museum was situated in the Vondelparkpaviljoen since 1975, and in 2009, plans were announced for a new home for the museum on the northern bank of Amsterdam's waterfront. It was officially opened on April 4, 2012 by Queen Beatrix.
Montelbaanstoren
The Montelbaanstoren is a tower on bank of the canal Oudeschans in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The original tower was built in 1516 for the purpose of defending the city. The top half, designed by Hendrick de Keyser, was extended to its current, decorative form in 1606.
Café ‘t Mandje
Café ‘t Mandje is a bar in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It is located in Zeedijk street, and is considered to be the first gay bar in the Netherlands and one of the first in the world. It was opened in 1927 by Bet van Beeren, herself a lesbian. The Amsterdams Historisch Museum holds the replica of ‘t Mandje.
IJtunnel
The IJtunnel, opened on 30 October 1968, is an automobile tunnel under the IJ that connects the centre of Amsterdam with Amsterdam-Noord. The tunnel is part of a route across Amsterdam that connects the Ringweg North with the Ringweg South near Duivendrecht, via Nieuwe Leeuwarderweg, Valkenburgerstraat, Weesperstraat, Wibautstraat and Gooiseweg (S112). The total length of the tunnel, including on- and off-ramps, is 1682 metres. The covered part is 1039 metres long.

Nam Kee

The Zeedijk is the heart of Chinatown, the Chinese neighbourhood of Amsterdam. Historically an area riddled with crime and drug addicts, the area went through a revitalization and is now a hub for Chinatown where locals come to eat at Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese restaurants.
's Lands Zeemagazijn
's Lands Zeemagazijn was the former arsenal of the Admiralty of Amsterdam, located near the Kattenburgerplein in Amsterdam. Designed by Daniël Stalpaert and constructed in 1655/1565, it is an example of Dutch classical architecture. In the year 1650 the government of Amsterdam decided to build three islands on the eastern edge of the city, the wharf of the navy was to be placed on the westernmost island, Kattenburg. A few years later this would also be the building site of the arsenal.

However it owes this rating to the past performance of its head chef as the restaurant was opened too briefly for a thorough review. Gault Millau mentioned the restaurant in its list, but awarded the restaurant no points. The head chef of &samhoud places is Moshik Roth one of the leading molecular chefs in the Netherlands.
