Akkerwoude
Akkerwoude is a former village in the Frisian municipality of Dantumadeel. On 1 January 1971 Akkerwoude, Dantumawoude and Murmerwoude were combined to form Damwoude. Akkerwoude was the most western village of the three. Akkerwoude was built around a church. The current church dates from 1849. This church was built on the same site of an earlier church from the thirteenth century. In 1889 a dairy cooperative factory "Dokkumer Wâlden and omstreken" was established.

The Protestant church of Damwâld-Moarrewâld or Saint Boniface’s church is a religious building in Damwâld-Moarrewâld, one of the medieval churches in Friesland. It is a Romanesque church built c. 1200 out of red brick with a straight closed choir dating from the early 16th century and a tower from the 13th century. The pipe organ was built in 1895 by Bakker & Timmenga.

The Protestant church of Damwâld-Dantumawâld or Saint Benedict’s church is a religious building in Damwâld-Dantumawâld, one of the medieval churches in Friesland. The church was built in the 12th century out of Tuffstone. In 1775 the current triple closed choir was built, in it are two large Romanesque windows. The tower dates from the 13th century and is built out of brick. The Pipe organ was built in 1777 by Albertus Antoni Hinsz.
