Eindhoven University of Technology
The Eindhoven University of Technology is a university of technology located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Its motto is Mens agitat molem (The mind brings matter into motion). The university was the second of its kind in the Netherlands, only Delft University of Technology existed previously. Until mid-1980 it was known as the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven (abbr. THE). In 2011 QS World University Rankings placed Eindhoven at 146th internationally, but 61st globally for Engineering & IT.
Valkenswaard
Valkenswaard is a municipality and a town in the southern Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant. The municipality had 30,671 citizens (as of February 1, 2012) and spans an area of 56,50 square kilometers (1,15 of which is water). The name Valkenswaard stems from its history of falconers, who caught wild falcons there; valk is Dutch for "falcon". It lay on a route where falcons migrated south each year.

Waalre is an affluent municipality and town in the southern Netherlands, immediately south of the city of Eindhoven.
Gender (stream)
The Gender is a stream in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant. It originates in originally marshy flatlands near Steensel and flows through Veldhoven and its eastern district Meerveldhoven in a general east-northeast direction towards Eindhoven. The Gender is one of many small streams that drain what once was the marshy heath and moorland of eastern Noord-Brabant and the Kempen plateau. Similar streams include the Dommel, Kleine Dommel, Keersop, Tongelreep, Aa, Binnen-Dieze and Run.
Philips Stadion
Philips Stadion is the 35,000 seater stadium of football club, PSV Eindhoven. It was first inaugurated on 31 August 1913. The stadium is located in the Philipsdorp ('Philips village') part of the Eindhoven borough of Strijp, close to Eindhoven's city centre. As late as 1933, its capacity was only 300, and remained that size until its expansion in 1941 to 18,000 spectators. The final days of World War II witnessed great destruction in the city of Eindhoven and also to the stadium itself.
Aalst, North Brabant
Aalst is located 6 km south of Eindhoven, on the road to Valkenswaard. It was an independent municipality until 1923, when it merged with the municipality of Waalre. Aalst experienced rapid growth during the 1970s and 1980s as housing estates were built in the Eekenrooi area, which served as an overflow area for Eindhoven. Despite this development the area remains very green and pleasant with large stretches of managed forest and heathland.
Van Abbemuseum
Van Abbemuseum is a museum of modern and contemporary art located in central Eindhoven, Netherlands, on the east bank of the Dommel river. Established in 1936, the Abbe Museum is named after its founder, Henri van Abbe. Van Abbe was a lover of modern art and wanted to enjoy it there from Eindhoven. As of 2010, the collection of the museum houses more than 2700 works of art, of which about 1000 are on paper, are 700 paintings, and 1000 are sculptures, installations and video work.
Jan Louwers Stadion
Jan Louwers Stadion is a multi-use stadium in the Eindhoven borough of Stratum, Netherlands. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Eindhoven. The stadium is able to hold 4,600 people. The stadium is named after Jan Louwers.
Vesteda Toren
The Vesteda tower is located in Eindhoven and was finished in 2006. At 90 metres tall and 28 floors it is the fourth highest building in Eindhoven. It was inspired by the Flatiron Building in Manhattan, New York City.

Inkijkmuseum
The Inkijkmuseum (lit. trans. Look-in museum) is an originally themed "micro museum" in the Dutch city of Eindhoven. It is located in the washhouse of the former linen factory Van den Briel & Verster on the Dommelstraat. The original factory was shut down in 1936, after which the washhouse was abandoned for a time. It was then converted into a bicycle parking area for the city police, then into youth center Effenaar and cultural center Cultureel Centrum 2B.
Effenaar
The Effenaar is a pop music venue in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It was founded in 1971 and has grown into one of the larger pop venues in the country. The current Effenaar consists of two music halls. The large hall has an audience capacity of 1200, is intended for use by larger bands and acts and is considerably larger than the hall of the original Effenaar. The small hall has a capacity of 350 (which is smaller than the old Effenaar) and is used for smaller and/or regional bands.
Berenkuil, Eindhoven
The Berenkuil (known officially as Insulindeplein) is a traffic circle in the Dutch city of Eindhoven, near the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology. An outer circle for automotive traffic surrounds a second sunken circle for bicycles and motorscooters; ramps from the bicycle lanes along the nearby streets lead into the lower circle via four underpasses. This design for a traffic circle is one that is called a berenkuil in the Netherlands.

The Eindhoven Museum is an archaeological open air museum in Eindhoven, Netherlands, focusing on the Iron Age and Middle Ages in the province of North Brabant. The museum is situated in the Genneper Parken area at the south side of the city. It focuses on the daily lives and routines of people in the time periods mentioned, through demonstrations and recreations of buildings, practices and routines.
Eindhovensch Kanaal
The Eindhovensch Kanaal is a channel in the Dutch province of North-Brabant. It connects the center of Eindhoven with the Zuid-Willemsvaart. It was dug in the period 1843-1846, commissioned by the town of Eindhoven. The canal is 13.9 kilometers long and runs by a number of Eindhoven industrial areas and the towns of Geldrop, Mierlo and Helmond. The canal runs over the Kleine Dommel and the Goorloop, which are led under the channel by ducts.
Hotel 't Silveren Seepaerd fire
The Hotel 't Silveren Seepaerd fire took place in the night of 28 September 1971 in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Hotel 't Silveren Seepaerd was a hotel-restaurant on the Stationsplein in Eindhoven. The fire broke out during the night. Because of a flashover the fire which started on the ground floor swiftly expanded over the four story high hotel. The escape routes in the hotel were poorly lit and because of the smoke development in the hotel escape was nearly impossible.
Eindhoven Water Towers
The Eindhoven Water Towers in Eindhoven, Netherlands were designed by W.G. Quist and built in 1970. In the late sixties the older water tower on Elschot Willemlaan proved to be inadequate. Due to it lack of capacity and general deterioration, the tower could no longer meet the growing demand. It was decided that new one should be constructed at the Anthony Coolenlaan, around the corner from the existing tower, and the water company headquarters.
Avant-Garde van Groeninge
Avant-Garde van Groeninge is a restaurant located in Eindhoven in the Netherlands. It is housed in the Philips Stadion, the home ground of soccer club PSV Eindhoven. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in the period 2004–present. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 15 out of 20 points. Owner and head chef of Avant-Garde van Groeninge is Johan van Groeninge. The restaurant is a continuation of Michelin starred Brasserie de Eglantier in Hilvarenbeek.
De Treeswijkhoeve
De Treeswijkhoeve is a restaurant in Waalre in the Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in the period 2006-2012. The restaurant is awarded two Michelin stars for 2013. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant 16 out of 20 points in 2013. Head chef of De Treeswijkhoeve is Dick Middelweerd. The restaurant became a member of the Alliance Gastronomique Néerlandaise in 2003.
