Susteren
Susteren is a city in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Echt-Susteren, about 7 km northwest of Sittard. It was a separate municipality until 2003, when it was merged with Echt. Susteren received town privileges in 1276. Susteren harboured the Benedictine Abbey Susteren, that was founded in the 8th century and was closed at the end of the 18th century. Its Romanesque church was raised to the status of a basilica in 2007 by pope Benedict XVI.

Roosteren is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Echt-Susteren. Roosteren was a separate municipality until 1982, when it was merged with Susteren. The municipality also covered the villages of Visserweert, Kokkelert, and Oud-Roosteren.
Aldeneik
Aldeneik, founded in 730, is a suburb of the Belgian town of Maaseik. It lies on the banks of the Meuse River, close to the border with the Netherlands, close to where the Bosbeek runs off it. According to legend it sprung up around a monastery set up by the Frankish sisters Herlindis and Relindis, who wrote the Gospel book known as the Codex Eyckensis, still in Maaseik. In the settlement is to be found the Romanesque and Gothic Sint-Annakerk.

The Sint-Annakerk is a Romanesque, partly Gothic, Roman Catholic church in Aldeneik, Belgium. The church was begun in the 12th century and consists of a 3-aisle basilica in Mosan style without transepts. Originally, the church was part of the Aldeneik monastery. Since the 18th century it has been dedicated to Saint Anne.

Aldeneik Abbey
Aldeneik Abbey is a former Benedictine abbey in Aldeneik, now a suburb of Maaseik in the Province of Limburg in eastern Belgium. It was founded in 728. The Benedictines were replaced by canons in 938 and belonged to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Liège.
