Sebou River
Sebou is a river in northern Morocco. At its source in the Middle Atlas mountains it is known as the Guigou River. The river is 496 kilometres long and has an average water flow of 137 m/s, which makes it the largest North African river by volume. It passes near the city of Fes and discharges to the Atlantic Ocean in Mehdia. Sebou is navigable for only 16 km until the city of Kenitra, which has the only river port in Morocco.
Battle of Port Lyautey
The Battle of Port Lyautey began on 8 November 1942 for the city of Port Lyautey, today known as Kenitra, in French Morocco. The battle ended with the United States seizure of the port.
La Mamora
La Mamora, La Mámora, Mehedía or San Miguel de Ultramar, was the Spanish name given to the current Moroccan city of Mehdia during the 17th century. It is located in northern Morocco, at the mouth of the Sebou River, in its West bank. It was under Spanish sovereignty between 1614 and 1681, when it was conquered by the Alaouite ruler Moulay Ismaïl.
