Federated States of Micronesia
The Federated States of Micronesia Listen/ˌmaɪkroʊˈniːʒə/ (FSM) is an independent sovereign island nation consisting of four states – from west to east, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae – that are spread across the Western Pacific Ocean. Together, the states comprise around 607 islands (a combined land area of approximately 702 km) that cover a longitudinal distance of almost 2,700 km just north of the equator.
Geography of the Federated States of Micronesia
The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) consists of 607 islands extending 1,800 miles (2,900 km) across the archipelago of the Caroline Islands east of the Philippines. They are grouped into four states: Yap, Chuuk (called Truk until January 1990), Pohnpei (called Ponape until November 1984), and Kosrae. The federal capital is Palikir, on Pohnpei.

Senyavin Islands
The Senyavin Islands belong to the Federated States of Micronesia. They consist of a larger volcanic Pohnpei Island (about 334 km²) and two small atolls Ant and Pakin.
Saudeleur Dynasty
The Saudeleur Dynasty was the first organized government uniting the people of Pohnpei island, ruling from around 1100 to around 1628. The era was preceded by the Mwehin Kawa or Mwehin Aramas (Period of Building, or Period of Peopling), and followed by Mwehin Nahnmwarki. The name Deleur was an ancient name for Pohnpei, today a state containing the capital of the Federated States of Micronesia.
Pohnpei International Airport
Pohnpei International Airport is an airport located on Pohnpei Island (formerly Ponape), the main island of Pohnpei State. It is close to the capital of the Federated States of Micronesia. The extension of the Pohnpei International Airport began in 2009, and it is anticipated that it will be completed in 2011. The Japanese Government has agreed to provide about US $29 million for the entire project.
Kolonia
Kolonia is a coastal town and the capital of Pohnpei State in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). It was also the former FSM capital before being replaced by Palikir in 1989, located nearby to the southwest in the municipality of Sokehs.
College of Micronesia-FSM
The College of Micronesia-FSM (COM-FSM), which began operation in 1963 as the Micronesian Teacher Education Center (MTEC), is a multi-campus institution in the Federated States of Micronesia. The College of Micronesia has a state campus in each of the four states with its national campus in the capital city of Palikir, Pohnpei. The COM-FSM system also includes the Fisheries and Maritime Institute (FMI) on the Yap islands.

Temwen Island
Temwen Island is a small island off the southeastern coast off the island of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. It is best known as the location of the ruined city of Nan Madol, which consisted of a series of artificially constructed islets off Temwen's southern coast.
Kitti (municipality)
Kitti is one of the twelve administrative divisions of the Micronesian island of Pohnpei. it is located in the southwest of the island, to the south of Mount Nahna Laud.
Madolenihmw
Madolenihmw is one of the administrative divisions of the Micronesian island of Pohnpei. It is located in the central east of the island, to the east of Mount Nahna Laud and south of Mount Kapwuriso. The coast of Madolenihmw includes a large bay which contains the island of Temwen, famous for its Nan Madol ruins.
Sokehs Island
Sokehs Island is a small island close to the north coast of Pohnpei Island in the Federated States of Micronesia. It is connected to the main island by causeway. Sokehs island is the location of Sokehs Rock, a prominent cliff face that is one of Micronesia's best-known geographic features. It was also the site of Sokehs Rebellion, an uprising by islanders in October 1910 against colonial German rule.
