Ciudad Madero
Madero, formally Ciudad Madero, is a city and its coextensive municipality in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. The city is located at 22.27°N, 97.83°W in the extreme southeastern part of the state, on the Gulf of Mexico, just north and east of Tampico but still on the banks of the Río Pánuco, and forms part of the conurbation that includes the municipalities of Tampico and Altamira in Tamaulipas, as well as Pánuco and Pueblo Viejo in the state of Veracruz, across the river to the south.
Pánuco River
The Pánuco River is a river in Mexico that flows from the River Moctezuma in the Valley of Mexico to the Gulf of Mexico. At its source, it serves as a channel for water-drainage for Mexico City. From there, it becomes the state border between Hidalgo and Querétaro as it moves towards San Luis Potosí. It takes the name Río Pánuco upon reaching Veracruz. It empties into the Gulf at Tampico and Ciudad Madero, on the border between the states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
Tampico Bridge
The Tampico Bridge is a vehicular cable-stayed bridge in Mexico, located on the Pánuco River in the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas, near to the Gulf of Mexico. The bridge has been in service since 1988 and was designed by Professor Modesto Armijo from COMEC, a Mexican engineering company. It was designed to withstand the severe hurricanes of the Gulf of Mexico. It connects the states of Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
