La Venta
This article is about the archeological site in Mexico. For the fossil site in Colombia, see La Venta (Colombia). La Venta is a pre-Columbian archaeological site of the Olmec civilization located in the present-day Mexican state of Tabasco. Dr. Alexander von Wuthenau was instrumental in investigating the terra cotta figurines and other artifacts related to the site. Some of the artifacts have been moved to the museum "Parque - Museo de La Venta", which is in Villahermosa, the capital of Tabasco.
