Alor Setar
Alor Setar, or also known as Alor Star in 2004-2008, is the capital of Kedah, Malaysia; largest city in the state of Kedah; important city in the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The city houses the Kota Setar District Administrative Centre at the City Muadzam Shah and the royal city of Kedah, City Anak Bukit. Alor Setar is located 93 kilometers north of Butterworth, Penang and 45 km from the southern border of Thailand.
Jitra
Jitra is a town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is located in the Kubang Pasu district. It is the fourth largest town in Kedah after Alor Setar, Sungai Petani and Kulim. During World War II, when the Japanese attacked Malaya, Jitra was on the one of main lines of defence set up by the British. One of the fiercest battles during the British defence of Malaya were fought here. Universiti Utara Malaysia(UUM) is the public university near to this town.
Kuala Kedah

The parliamentary constituency of Kuala Kedah, which includes the town and surrounding areas, is represented by Ahmad Kassim of the opposition People's Justice Party (PKR).
Kota Sarang Semut
Kota Sarang Semut is a small town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is located near Pendang town. The name of the town literally translated means City of Anthills. A story go that when King Solomon passed by this place with an entourage of men and elephants. The ants, fearing that the stampede will destroy their home, cried for mercy and it was heard by Solomon. He then warned off his company not to step on the anthills. Today, the main federal road cuts through the quiet town from Gurun to Alor Setar.

The new terminal has the capacity to receive the Airbus 330 operations as the runway was extended from the previous 1,963 metres long and 45 metres wide to 2,745 metres long and 45 metres wide.

Keat Hwa Secondary School is widely known as Keat Hwa in the region, and it is one of the only 78 Chinese conforming (national-type) secondary schools in Malaysia.
Darul Aman Stadium
Darul Aman Stadium is an all-seater and a multi-purpose stadium in Alor Star, the capital of state of Kedah, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was built in 1967. It has a capacity of 32,387 seats after the expansion in 1997. It was one of the venues for the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship. It is the official stadium for Malaysian Super League's club Kedah FA and Malaysian Premier League's club Kuala Muda NAZA FC.
