Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje
The Saints Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje (Macedonian: Универзитет „Св. Кирил и Методиј“ – Скопје) is the largest university in the Republic of Macedonia. It was named after the Byzantine brothers Cyril and Methodius, also known as the 'Apostles to the Slavs', enlighteners who developed the precursors to Cyrillic script used today in most Slavic languages. More than 50,000 students study at the Skopje University, including some 700 foreign students.

Petrovec is a village in the Republic of Macedonia situated about 15 km southeast of the national capital Skopje. It is the seat of the Petrovec municipality. Tumba Madžari
Tumba is a Neolithic settlement located in the north-eastern part of Skopje, Macedonia and it is the most significant Neolithic settlement in Skopje valley. It was discovered in 1961/2 in the course of the archaeological trial excavations related to the construction of the motorway. The first archaeological excavations were conducted in 1978 by the Museum of Macedonia, under the leadership of Voislav Sanev.
20th Chess Olympiad
The 20th Chess Olympiad, organized by FIDE and comprising an open team tournament, as well as several other events designed to promote the game of chess, took place between September 18 and October 13, 1972, in Skopje, Yugoslavia. For the first time, the Soviet team only comprised 5 GMs and one IM (Savon). Since Bobby Fischer had beaten Spassky earlier in the year, the team wasn't led by the current world champion - also a first.
FON University
The FON University is the second private university established in the Republic of Macedonia, after the liberalisation of the High education law's in 2002. After its establishment great number of professors from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje transferred to the new university and contributed to building a better educational system in Republic of Macedonia.
Idrizovo
Idrizovo is a community in the outskirts of the city of Skopje in the Republic of Macedonia. With the establishment of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia following the Second World War, an internment camp was built in the area wherein political prisoners could be detained. Today, the prison remains and serves as one of the largest correctional facilities in the country.
Dračevo, Skopje
Dračevo is a suburb of Skopje and one of the first major settlements in that region. The population is near to 40.000 people, and it has fully developed socio-economical life. It is located 10 km south-east from the center of the city of Skopje.

Železarnica Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Skopje, Macedonia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home of FK Metalurg Skopje of the Macedonian First League and FK Skopje of the Macedonian Second League. The stadium holds 4,000 spectators.
Smilkovci lake killings
The Smilkovci Lake killings (Macedonian: масакарот кај Смилковското езеро, "massacre at Smilkovci Lake") was carried out on 12 April 2012 by ethnic-Albanians, according to reports. In the massacre, five ethnic Macedonian civilians were shot and killed beside an artificial lake near the village of Smilkovci just outside of the Macedonian capital Skopje.
National and University Library "St. Kliment of Ohrid"
National and University Library "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Skopje is one of the first established institutions with the decision of Anti-Fascist Assembly of the National Liberation of Macedonia on 23 November 1944. The rich library tradition on the soil of the Republic of Macedonia, whose roots stretch back to the deeds of pan-Slavonic educators St. Cyril (826-869) and St. Methodius (820-885) is the same foundations on which the Library began to build and develop its activity.
