Ohrid
Ohrid is a city on the eastern shore of Lake Ohrid in the Republic of Macedonia. It has about 56,000 inhabitants, making it the seventh largest city in the country. The city is the seat of Ohrid Municipality. Ohrid is notable for having once had 365 churches, one for each day of the year and has been referred to as a "Jerusalem (of the Balkans)". The city is rich in picturesque houses and monuments, and tourism is predominant.
Ohrid Literary School
The Ohrid Literary School was one of the two major cultural centres of the First Bulgarian Empire, along with the Preslav Literary School. The school was established in Ohrid in 886 by Saint Clement of Ohrid on the order of Boris I of Bulgaria simultaneously or shortly after the establishment of the Preslav Literary School. After Clement was ordained bishop of Drembica (Velika) in 893, the position of head of the school was assumed by Naum of Preslav.
Lake Ohrid
Lake Ohrid, (Albanian: Liqeni i Ohrit), straddles the mountainous border between southwestern Macedonia and eastern Albania. It is one of Europe's deepest and oldest lakes, preserving a unique aquatic ecosystem that is of worldwide importance, with more than 200 endemic species. The importance of the lake was further emphasized when it was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1979 and when, in 2010, NASA decided to name one of Titan's lakes after Lake Ohrid.

The church is attributed to John the Theologian. The construction date of the church remains unknown but documents detailing the church property suggests that it was built before the year 1447.
Ancient Theatre of Ohrid
The Ancient theatre of Ohrid of the Hellenistic period is located in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia. It was built in 200 BC and is the only Hellenistic-type theatre in the country as the other three in Scupi, Stobi and Heraklea Lynkestis are from Roman times. It is unclear how many people the original theater used to seat, as only the lower section still exists.
Trebeništa
Trebeništa is an ancient necropolis located in Macedonia, dating from the Iron Age around the 7th century BC. It is located near the town of Ohrid, in the Republic of Macedonia. It is believed that the necropolis was used by the people from the ancient town of Lychnidos. Trebeništa was discovered in 1918 by Bulgarian soldiers. The government sent archaeologist Karel Škorpil to organize excavations. The artefacts were later researched by Bogdan Filov.

Leskoec is a village 5 kilometres from the town Ohrid, in the Republic of Macedonia. The population is 2 595 people (2002) and it is the biggest village in Ohrid municipality.
Battle of Vaikal
The Battle of Vaikal occurred in April 1465 in the valley of Vaikal, southeastern Albania. A new Ottoman sanjakbey of the Sanjak of Ohrid, Ballaban Badera (of Albanian origin), was sent by Sultan Mehmed II to inflict heavy losses on the Albanian forces. Skanderbeg had been prepared for the battle and prepared his troops for a plan of action. This worked well until some of Skanderbeg's officers did not follow orders to stop chasing the Ottoman forces and were captured along with their men.
Robevi family house
The Robevi House is a famous and historic building in Ohrid, Macedonia. It was built in its current state in 1863–1864 by Todor Petkov from a village Gari near Debar. Today the house is a protected cultural monument under the "Institute for protection of cultural monuments in Ohrid".
SRC Biljanini Izvori
SRC Biljanini Izvori (Macedonian: СРЦ "Билјанини извори") is a multi-purpose stadium in Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia. It has a seating capacity of 3,000 and is the home ground of FK Ohrid and FK Ohrid Lote. It has also been used by the Macedonian national team for training.
Plaošnik
Plaošnik or simply Plaoš is an archaeological site and holy place in Ohrid, 250 meters below Samuil's Fortress. In the future, the whole complex will have konaks (mansions) as in the time of Saint Clement of Ohrid, together with several surrounding objects.
2009 Lake Ohrid boat accident
On 5 September 2009, the Ilinden sightseeing boat with a group of 57 foreign tourists on board, of which 55 were Bulgarian, sank in Lake Ohrid, southwestern Republic of Macedonia. 15 lives were lost. The sinking of the Ilinden was the deadliest boat accident in the history of the Republic of Macedonia. Lake Ohrid is the deepest lake in the Balkans, with maximum depth of 288 metres . The Ilinden boat was taking tourists to the Saint Naum Monastery.

Battle of Ohrid
The Battle of Ohrid took place on 14 or 15 September 1464 between the Ottoman Empire's forces and Skanderbeg's Albania. A crusade against Sultan Mehmed II had been planned by Pope Pius II with Skanderbeg as one of its main leaders. The battle near Ohrid occurred as a result of an Albanian incursion into Ottoman territory. The Turks stationed in the area were assaulted by Skanderbeg's men and 1,000 Venetian soldiers under Cimarosto.
