Diekirch
Diekirch (Luxembourgish: Dikrech; from Diet-Kirch, i.e. "people's church") is a commune with city status in north-eastern Luxembourg, capital city of the canton Diekirch and the district of Diekirch. The city is situated on the banks of the Sauer river. As of 2001, the town of Diekirch, which lies in the south of the commune, has a population of 6,068. Diekirch was the first city in Luxembourg to have a pedestrian zone, in 1977. There is a brewery with the same name.
Bastendorf
Bastendorf is a small town in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 371. Bastendorf was a commune in the canton of Diekirch until 1 January 2006, when it was merged with the commune of Fouhren to form the new commune of Tandel, in Vianden. The law creating Tandel was passed on 21 December 2004.

Brandenbourg is a village in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. It lies in the valley of the Blees river, and is the site of the 10th century Brandenbourg Castle. As of 2001, the village had a population of 189. Until 1 January 2006, Brandenbourg was part of the commune of Bastendorf, which was merged with the commune of Fouhren to form the modern commune of Tandel.

Brandenbourg Castle
Brandenbourg Castle (French: Château de Brandenbourg), now a ruin, is located on a promontory some 70 metres above the village of Brandenbourg in north-eastern Luxembourg. It has a history going back to the 9th and 10th centuries when there was a wooden fort on the site. The 13th century keep, now 11.9 metres high, used to have four floors, only three of which remain. In 1668, the French attacked the castle which subsequently fell increasingly into ruin. It is now owned by the Luxembourg State.
