Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) (Lithuanian: Vytauto Didžiojo Universitetas) is a public university in Kaunas, Lithuania. The university was founded in 1922 during the interwar period as an alternate national university.

Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Lithuanian: Lietuvos sveikatos mokslų universitetas) is a medical school in Kaunas, Lithuania. The present-day Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is a consolidation of two institutions of higher education, Kaunas University of Medicine and the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy. It uses the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics and the Kaunas Red Cross Hospital as a teaching hospitals.

Laisvės Alėja (literally Liberty Boulevard or Liberty Avenue) is a prominent pedestrian street in the city of Kaunas, Lithuania. It stretches between the St. Michael the Archangel's Byzantine-style church to the Central Post Office and Tadas Ivanauskas Zoological Museum, around the Kaunas Old Town, the oldest section of Kaunas. For a long time it was the main commercial district of Kaunas. Stretching for 1.6 kilometres, Laisvės Alėja is the longest pedestrian street in Eastern Europe.
Kaunas Sports Hall
Kaunas Sports Hall (Lithuanian: Kauno sporto halė), also known as the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Hall is the second largest arena of Kaunas, Lithuania. It is the first arena built in the residential Žaliakalnis neighbourhood of Kaunas specially for basketball in Europe and is referred to as a "Mecca of the Lithuanian basketball". The arena's seating capacity is 5,000. Initial seating capacity was 3,500 and the other spectators (up to 11,000) used to have standing room.
Darius and Girėnas Stadium
S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium is a multi-use stadium in the Ąžuolynas park in Žaliakalnis district of Kaunas, Lithuania. The all-seater stadium holds 8,248. In 1998 the stadium was renovated according to UEFA regulations, and in 2005 it was modernised with the installation of the biggest stadium television screen in the Baltic states. The first stadium in this place was established by Steponas Darius in 1923, and completed in 1925.
Kaunas University of Technology
Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) is a public research university located in Kaunas, Lithuania. Initially established on January 27, 1920, the school was known as "Higher Courses". With an increased rate of staffing and attendance, the school was instituted as the first independent higher education institution within Lithuania by the government on February 16, 1922.
Vydūnas alley
Vydūnas alley is a street in Kaunas Žaliakalnis neighbourhood, bordering Ąžuolynas park in the north. It was built by a special plan as a residential area of Temporary capital of Lithuania. The alley was built according to writings of Lithuanian philosopher Vydūnas and was intersected with two radial streets - Minties ratas (Ring of Thought) and Gėlių ratas (Ring of Flowers).

Žmuidzinavičius Museum
Žmuidzinavičius Museum, commonly known as the Devils' Museum, is a museum in Kaunas, Lithuania, dedicated to collecting and exhibiting sculptures and carvings of devils from all over the world. As of 2009, its holdings encompass about 3,000 exhibits. The collection was initiated by painter Antanas Žmuidzinavičius (1876–1966). A memorial museum was established in his house after his death. At the time the devil collection had only 260 sculptures.

Vytautas the Great War Museum
The Vytautas the Great War Museum (Lithuanian: Vytauto Didžiojo karo muziejus) is a museum in Kaunas, Lithuania. It was opened on 16 February 1936 and named after Vytautas the Great, Grand Duke of Lithuania. The museum displays historical artefacts pertaining to Lithuania and Kaunas from prehistoric times to the present day, including a large collection of historical weapons.
Žaliakalnis Funicular Railway
Žaliakalnis Funicular Railway is a funicular railway in Kaunas, Lithuania. Built in 1931, it is the oldest funicular in Lithuania. The funicular is made of a wood-paneled coachwork and climbs 142 metres up from behind the Vytautas the Great War Museum to the Church of the Resurrection. It was constructed by engineering firm Curt Rudolph Transportanlagen from Dresden, Germany with electrical equipment from AEG and mechanical parts from Bell Maschinenfabrik, Switzerland.

"Stumbras" is also the largest exporter of strong alcoholic beverages and one of the biggest taxpayers in Lithuania. Company's most famous brands include "Lithuanian vodka", "999", "Gloria", "Stumbro Starka" (bitter), "Krupnikas", "Poema" (liqueur) and others. The company name translates as Wisent.
Lithuanian Sports University
The Lithuanian Sports University (Lithuanian: Lietuvos sporto universitetas, LSU), formerly Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education, is the only state-supported institution of tertiary physical education in Kaunas, Lithuania. It has the university status. Since its establishment, the academy is headquartered in Žaliakalnis neighbourhood of Kaunas, in close proximity to the Kaunas Sports Hall and the S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium, adjacent to the Ąžuolynas Park.
KTU radio Gaudeamus
KTU radio Gaudeamus is one the first university radio stations in Lithuania. It was founded at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) in 2005. Radio station is available via analogue 93,6 MHz FM frequency in Kaunas city and on the internet. "Gaudeamus" has one main radio station based in the center of Kaunas in the Faculty of Humanities of KTU.
Žalgiris Arena
Žalgiris Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the New Town of Kaunas, Lithuania. The arena is located on an island of the Nemunas River. It is the largest indoor arena in the Baltics. The arena's maximum possible seating capacity for basketball games is 15,688, and 16,160 seats for concerts (when the stage is in the middle, and 11,256 when stage is in the side of the arena). The Žalgiris Arena replaced the Kaunas Sports Hall as a major venue in the city.
M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum
The M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum is a group of museums based in Kaunas, Lithuania. It is primarily dedicated to exhibiting and publicizing the works of the painter and musician M.K. Čiurlionis (1875–1911). The museum was founded in 1921, and opened a temporary gallery in 1925. It was renamed Vytautas the Great Museum of Culture in 1936, receiving its current name in 1944. An expansion took place in 1969.
Kaunas Museum for the Blind
The Kaunas Museum for the Blind in Kaunas, Lithuania opened in 2005. It was the first museum for the blind in the Baltic States and one of the first in Eastern Europe. The museum, located in the catacombs underneath St. Michael the Archangel Church, was created during the course of an international exchange project, "Catacombs of the 21st Century", organized by students at the Kaunas University of Technology, under the supervision of the sculptor Robertas Antinis.
Kaunas Chamber Theatre
Kaunas Chamber Theatre (Lithuanian: Kauno kamerinis teatras) is drama theatre in Kaunas, Lithuania. The theatre was established in 1976 as Kaunas Youth Musical Studio. Founder and present-day leader of Kaunas Youth Musical Theatre-Studio is famous Lithuanian actor Stanislovas Rubinovas. The theatre obtained the status of a professional theatre in 1986. The current name, Kaunas Chamber Theatre, was awarded by Kaunas municipality in 2005.
Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, Kaunas
The Holy Resurrection Church is an Orthodox church in Kaunas, Lithuania, built in 1862 in the area of the local Orthodox cemetery. Initially the church belonged to St. Alexander Nevsky parish, but in 1882, due to the constant growth of the number of Orthodox Russians living in the city, it was made a parish church as well. From 1884 on, the church ran a parish school. The church was closed after the Germans entered to Kaunas during World War I.
Kaunas Mosque
Kaunas Mosque or Vytautas the Great Mosque (Lithuanian: Vytauto Didžiojo Mečetė) is one of four remaining mosques in Lithuania. It is located in Centras eldership, Kaunas. It is the only brick mosque in Lithuania. A wooden Kaunas Mosque was first built in 1860. It was replaced by a brick mosque in 1930 with the aid of the state of Lithuania.
Varniai Bridge
Varnių Bridge is a bridge across the Neris River, that connects Vilijampolė and Žaliakalnis districts of Kaunas, Lithuania. It was built in 1983. The bridge is 328 meters long and approximately 25 meters wide. It carries six lanes of automobile traffic, with three lanes in each direction. Before World War II, neighbourhoods of Vilijampolė and Žaliakalnis were connected by temporary Eiguliai bridge.
Kaunas Prison
Kaunas Prison (Lithuanian: Kauno tardymo izoliatorius) is a prison in the center of Kaunas, second largest city of Lithuania. As of 2007, it houses approximately 300 prisoners and employs around 230 prison guards. Most prisoners are there under temporary arrest awaiting court decisions or transfers to other detention facilities.
Holy Cross Church, Kaunas
Holy Cross Church, Kaunas (Lithuanian: Šv. Kryžiaus bažnyčia) is located in the Centre elderate of Kaunas, Lithuania. The monks of the Order of Carmelites bought several plots of land for the monastery in Kaunas near the Nemunas river in 1706. Some years earlier, the new church was sanctified nearby in 1685. It was consecrated in 1700. The church was built in the late baroque style. It is a two tower building of Latin cross shape. The painting in the main dome represents the prophet Elijah.
