Liberia
Liberia Listen/laɪˈbɪəriə/, officially the Republic of Liberia, is a country in West Africa bordered by Sierra Leone to its west, Guinea to its north and Côte d'Ivoire to its east. It covers an area of 111,369 km and is home to about 3.7 million people. English is the official language and over thirty indigenous languages are also spoken within the country.
Monrovia
Monrovia is the capital city of the West African nation of Liberia. Located on the Atlantic Coast at Cape Mesurado, it lies geographically within Montserrado County, but is administered separately. The city is governed as a metropolitan city called Greater Monrovia District, which had a population of 970,824 as of the 2008 census, containing 29% of the total population of Liberia and is the country's most populous city.

The music of Liberia involves several different genres. Liberia is a West African country. Its musical heritage includes several important genres of pop derived from neighbors like Ghana and Nigeria. Liberia also boasts an array of indigenous folk music, Christian music and influences from its Americo-Liberian minority. Because most cultures and customs in Liberia are influenced by the United States, R&B and Hip-hop are also being performed in this country as well.
Paynesville, Liberia
Paynesville (sometimes Paynesward) is a suburb east of Monrovia, located in Liberia. Despite being a suburb, it is geographically large than the city of Monrovia and is currently expanding eastward along the Robertsfield Highway and northeastward beyond Red Light Market. Paynesville is often considered a part of the Greater Monrovia area. It was the location of the Paynesville Omega Transmitter, the highest structure of Africa, until the tower's demolition in 2011.
House of Representatives (Liberia)
The House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the bicameral legislative branch of Liberia, and together with the Senate comprises the Legislature of Liberia. The number of seats is fixed by law at 73, with each county being apportioned a number of seats based on its percentage of the national population. Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex
National Complex is a multi-purpose stadium in Paynesville, Liberia built in 1986. It is used mostly for football matches and it also has an athletics track. The Greater Monrovia District is one of four districts located in Montserrado County, Liberia. Though it shares its name with Monrovia, the nation's capital, it is politically independent of the city.
Supreme Court of Liberia
The Supreme Court of Liberia is the highest judicial body in the West African nation of Liberia. The court consists of the Chief Justice of Liberia and four Associate Justices, who are nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The justices hold court at the Temple of Justice on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.
University of Liberia
The University of Liberia (UL) is a publicly funded institution of higher learning located in Monrovia, Liberia. Authorized by the national government in 1851, the school opened in 1863 as Liberia College and became a university in 1951. The school is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in West Africa and is accredited by the Liberian Commission on Higher Education. Civil wars have disrupted and damaged the school over the last three decades.

Cape Mesurado
Cape Mesurado is a headland on the coast of Liberia near the capital Monrovia and the mouth of the Saint Paul River. It was named Cape Mesurado by Portuguese sailors in the 1560s. It is the promontory on which African American settlers established the city now called Monrovia on 25 April 1822. There is a lighthouse on Cape Mesurado, located in the Mamba Point neighborhood of Monrovia and in the cape's northwestern portion, that was established in 1855.
Liberian National Museum
The National Museum of Liberia is a national museum in Monrovia, Liberia. Initially housed in the First Executive Mansion on Ashmond Street of the city which is now used as a library, it was established by an Act of the National Legislature in 1958 under the administration of Liberia's 18th President, Dr William V.S. Tubman.
Gabriel Tucker Bridge
The Gabriel Tucker Bridge formerly the People’s Bridge, is a bridge over the Mesurado River in Monrovia, Liberia. It was built between 1972 and 1976. The construction caused some minor disruption to local settlements and the Liberian National Museum had to be relocated in the mid 1970s to facilitate the structure. It was designed by Gabriel Johnson Tucker, who Liberian President William R. Tolbert had named in his honor.

Mesurado River is a river of Liberia. It flows through the capital of Monrovia and is crossed by the People’s Bridge, built in the 1970s.
Bushrod Island
Bushrod Island is an island near Monrovia, Liberia surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the Saint Paul River and the Mesurado River. It contains the Freeport of Monrovia, the major national port of Liberia and a variety of businesses. It also contains numerous residential areas and government buildings. Its proximity to the capital and industrial base make it an important commercial area for the country. End Point is a geographical feature on north end of Bushrod Island.
Freeport of Monrovia
The Freeport of Monrovia is the main commercial port facility in the West African nation of Liberia. The port was artificially created on Bushrod Island near Monrovia in 1948. The port facility contains four piers and one main wharf with four berths. The port also has tanker facilities and a fishery pier. The National Port Authority operates the port.
West Point, Monrovia
West Point is a township (the administrative equivalent of a city ward) of the Liberian capital city of Monrovia, located on a peninsula which juts out into the Atlantic Ocean between the Mesurado and Saint Paul rivers. Home to approximately 75,000 people, it is one of Monrovia's most dangerous slums, and environmental degradation has gradually caused part of the peninsula to erode into the ocean. Endemic problems include overpopulation and diseases such as tuberculosis.
Ducor Hotel
The Ducor Palace Hotel is a building in Monrovia, the capital city of the African nation of Liberia. The building overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Saint Paul River and Monrovia's West Point district. It is located on Ducor Hill, at the end of Broad Street across from United Nations Boulevard in Monrovia's main business district. Once a luxury hotel, the building has fallen into extensive disrepair.

New Georgia, Liberia
New Georgia is a township in Montserrado County, Liberia that was first settled by Africans who had been taken from slave ships seized or wrecked near the United States and then sent to Liberia after several years had passed. In July 1827 a ship named Norfolk carried 131, 143 or 144 Africans to Liberia from the United States, of whom 78 were adult women and another eleven or twelve were under ten years of age.

Stella Maris Polytechnic (SMP) is a post-secondary, private institution of higher learning in Monrovia in the West African nation of Liberia. Founded in 1988, the school is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Monrovia. Located on Capitol Hill, the school has approximately 2,000 students.
Temple of Justice
The Temple of Justice is a large building of modern style which was constructed in the 1960s on Capitol Hill in Monrovia, Liberia. Dedicated in 1965, it houses the Supreme Court of Liberia, auxiliary courtrooms, and legal offices. It suffered relatively little damage during the First and Second civil wars that lasted from 1989-2003, but poor maintenance and lack of electricity made the Temple unpleasant to work in.
