Kisumu
Kisumu is a port city in western Kenya at 1,131 m, with a population of 394,684 (2009 census). It is the third largest city in Kenya, the principal city of western Kenya, the immediate former capital of Nyanza Province and the headquarters of Kisumu County. It has a municipal charter but no city charter. It is the largest city in Nyanza region and second most important city after Kampala in the greater Lake Victoria basin.

Maseno
Maseno is a town in Kisumu District of Nyanza Province, Kenya. It is located along Kisumu - Busia highway 20 kilometers northwest of Kisumu, the provincial capital. Another road connects Maseno to Vihiga town, located 15 kilometers east of Maseno. The altitude of Maseno is 1,503 metres or 4,934 feet above sea level. Maseno town is the headquarters of Maseno Division, one of four administrative divisions of Kisumu District.
Kit-Mikayi
Kit-Mikayi (also spelled Kit Mikayi, Kitmikayi, and Kitmikaye) is a rock formation, a tor, around 40 m high situated about 29 km west of the town of Kisumu in western Kenya. It is about 1 km from the Kisumu-Bondo road. The sign board is on the gate of Kit Mikayi primary school and entrance is via N’gop-Ngeso primary school. Kit-mikayi means "the stone of the first woman", or "stone of the first wife", in Dholuo, the Luo language.

Maseno School
Maseno School is one of the oldest schools in Kenya. It was established in 1906 by the Missionaries of the Church Missionary Society (CMS) as a school for the children of African chiefs. The first administrator of the school was Rev. James Jamieson Willis fondly remembered as J. J Willis. In 1905, Willis was sent to explore the Kavirondo or lake region of Kenya as a prospective place for the establishment of a mission.
Maboko Island
Maboko Island is a small island lying in the Winam Gulf of Lake Victoria, in Nyanza Province of western Kenya. It is about 1.8 km long by 1 km wide. It is an important Middle Miocene paleontological site with fossiliferous deposits that were discovered in the 1930s. The age of the deposits is estimated to be 15 to 16 million years, and they are especially important for the abundance of primate fossils they contain.
