Belvoir Fortress (Israel)

Belvoir Fortress is a Crusader fortress in northern Israel, on a hill 20 kilometres south of the Sea of Galilee. Gilbert of Assailly, Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller, began construction of the castle in 1168. The restored fortress is located in Belvoir National Park. It is the best-preserved Crusader fortress in Israel.

Yarmouk River

The Yarmouk River is the largest tributary of the Jordan River. It drains much of the Hauran Plateau. It is one of three main tributaries which enter the Jordan between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. To the south, are the Jabbok/Zarqa and the Arnon/Wadi Mujib) rivers. The Yarmouk forms the border between Israel and Jordan close to the Jordan Valley and between Syria and Jordan further upstream. It is the southern boundary of the Golan Heights.

Ohalo

Ohalo is the common designation for the archaeological site Ohalo II in the vicinity of the Sea of Galilee, and one of the best preserved hunter-gatherer archaeological sites of the Last Glacial Maximum, having been radiocarbon dated to around 19,400 BP. The site is significant because of the numerous fruit and cereal grain remains preserved therein, (intact ancient plant remains being exceedingly rare finds due to their quick decomposition).

Hamat Gader

Hamat Gader is a site in the Yarmouk River valley, near the Sea of Galilee in the Golan Heights. Valley of Springs Regional Council, known until 2008 as the Beit She'an Valley Regional Council is a regional council in northern Israel that encompasses most of the settlements in the Beit She'an Valley.
