Moab
Moab is the historical name for a mountainous strip of land in Jordan. The land lies alongside much of the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. The existence of the Kingdom of Moab is attested to by numerous archeological findings, most notably the Mesha Stele, which describes the Moabite victory over an unnamed son of King Omri of Israel. The Moabite capital was Dibon. In Biblical times, the nation was often in conflict with its Israelite neighbours to the west.
Salt, Jordan
Salt is an ancient agricultural town and administrative centre in west-central Jordan. It is on the old main highway leading from Amman to Jerusalem. Situated in the Balqa highland, about 790–1100 metres above sea level, the town is built in the crook of three hills, close to the Jordan River valley. One of the three hills is the site of a 13th century ruined fortress. It is the capital of the Balqa Governorate. The Greater Salt Municipality has about 97,000 inhabitants (2006).
Fuheis
Fuheis (also Fuhais) is a town in the Jordanian governorate of Balqa, just 20 kilometers northwest of Amman. A town of 20,000 residents, Fuheis is the only remaining overtly Christian dominated settlement in Jordan. It is located in an intermediate vicinity to the cities of Salt and Amman.
Karameh
al-Karameh (or simply Karameh) is a town in Jordan, near the Allenby Bridge which spans the Jordan River. The river defines the border between Israel and Jordan. Karameh was also the battleground for one of the main events in the history of the Palestinian national movement. In 1968, the city served as the political and military headquarters of the Palestinian al-Fatah movement, led by Yasser Arafat. On March 21, 1968, Karameh became the site of the Battle of Karameh.
Princess Sumaya University for Technology
Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), established in 1991, is a specialized, Non-governmental, Non-profit, Jordanian university, owned by the leading applied research centre in Jordan, the Royal Scientific Society (RSS). PSUT’s area of specialization is IT, Communications and Electronics. As a nonprofit institution, PSUT embraces both the public and private sectors, but while akin to public universities in its mission, it is more aligned to the private sector in drive and spirit.
University of Jordan
The University of Jordan, often abbreviated UJ, is a state-supported university located in Amman, Jordan. Founded in 1962, it is the largest and oldest institution of higher education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The university has the highest admission averages in the country and is considered the premier university in Jordan and one of the most prestigious in the Arab World. It is located in the Jubaiha area of the University District in Amman.
Baqa'a
The Baqa'a refugee camp, first created in 1968, lies 20 km north of the Jordanian capital Amman, and is home to around 80,100 Palestinians who are registered as such with the United Nations, making it the largest camp in Jordan. Baqa'a was one of six camps set up in Jordan in 1968 to house the Palestinians who left the West Bank and Gaza Strip during the 1967 Arab Israeli war. Between June 1967 and February 1968, residents were housed in temporary camps in the Jordan valley.
Qasr al Abd
Qasr al Abd is a large ruin in western Jordan dating from approximately 200BC, and standing in the valley of Wadi Seer, approximately 17 kilometres west of Amman, close to the village of `Iraq al Amir.

Mecca Mall is one of the biggest shopping malls in the Jordanian capital, Amman. It is located on Mecca Street, and this is the reason the mall was named Mecca Mall. It includes a large number of stores, mostly women fashion shops, but also includes home decor stores, Mobile Phone vendors, 22 Restaurants, 8 Cinemas, Video arcades, bowling alley, Miles grocery store, and more.
Ad-Dustour
The Ad-Dustour Arabic: الدستور) is an Arabic daily newspaper published in Jordan. Its headquarters is in Amman, Jordan. It is owned by the Jordan Press and Publishing Company. The first issue of the newspaper was published on Tuesday 28 March 1967. The Jordan Press and Publishing Company was a private company until 1986, when the Jordanian government bought a share of it.
Battle of Karameh
The Battle of Karameh was fought on March 21, 1968 in the town of Karameh, Jordan, between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and combined forces of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Jordanian Army. It was planned by Israel as two concurrent raids on PLO camps, one in Karameh and one in the distant village of Safi — codenamed Operation Inferno and Operation Asuta (מבצע אסותא), respectively — but the former turned into a full-scale battle.
Mahis
Mahis is a Jordanian town located in the Balqa Governorate north west from the governorate's capital city Salt, and 10 km west of Amman. Its population exceeds 14,000. Most of the population of Mahis descends from the Al-Abbadi tribe . The mountainous town is located at over 800 metres, with panoramic views on the Jordanian valley, West Bank with Jerusalem’s walls visible on the horizon. Mahis is known for its orchards and its numerous water fountains and springs, notably the Fountain of Mahis.

International Centre for Synchrotron-Light for Experimental Science Applications in the Middle East
The International Centre for Synchrotron-Light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME) is an independent laboratory formally created under the auspices of UNESCO on 30 May 2002. It is located in Allan, by the Al-Balqa nahia of the Balqa governorate of Jordan. The founding members of SESAME are Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, the Palestinian Authority, and Turkey.
Jordan Gate Towers
Jordan Gate Towers is a high class commercial and residential project currently under construction in Amman, Jordan. They are located in west Amman, close to the 6th Circle. The towers are one of the best known skyscrapers in the city, and will become the tallest structures in Amman upon completion, thus surpassing the 31-floor Le Royal Hotel. The towers will also host the new Hilton Hotel, the first in Jordan.
Al Hussein Public Parks
Al Hussein Park is a public park in Amman, Jordan that continues to be under construction. The project attempts to create a landmark for the city by including a cultural village, sports fields, memorial building, historical passageway, decorated gardens, amphitheater, circular yard, automobile museum and The Children's Museum Jordan.
King Hussein Cancer Center
The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) (Arabic مركز الملك حسين للسرطان), is a medical center in Amman, Jordan. It treats both adult and pediatric patients. KHCC treats over 3500 new cancer patients each year from Jordan and the region. KHCC has established programs that focus on all stages of comprehensive cancer care: from prevention and early detection, through diagnosis and treatment, to palliative care.
City Mall, Jordan
City Mall is one of the biggest shopping malls in the Jordanian capital, Amman. It has a total floor area of 160,000m², of which 55,000m² is leasable. On October 19, 2012, a decorative section of the ground floor roof collapsed and injured around 20 shoppers.
Center for Strategic Studies Jordan
The Center for Strategic Studies Jordan (CSS) was established in 1998 with the objective of providing government bodies and organizations in the public and private sectors with high-impact studies of politics, foreign policy, economy and society of countries in the Middle East region. The center also performs high accuracy polls.
German-Jordanian University
The German-Jordanian University (GJU), often abbreviated GJU, is a state-supported university located in Madaba at Al Mushaqqar. The university provides the student body with a variety of degrees, and differs from other Jordanian universities by offering German language courses, with the chance for students to visit and study in Germany for their fourth academic year.
Jordan Investment Board
Jordan Investment Board (JIB) is the national investment promotion agency of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The organization was founded in 1995, the year the Investment Promotion Law was introduced, and is responsible for acquiring and providing professional consulting services to foreign and domestic investors who want to invest in the growing economy of Jordan.
Suwaylih
Suwaylih (صويلح) is a town in the north of Amman with a population of over 120,000. The town is known for having a good climate throughout the year, growing olives and grapes, and is the presence of many heavy industries, such as auto assembly, steel and cement. Suwaylih has a larger population of Chechens, many of whom moved here during the early days of Soviet oppression; they still preserve their language and culture.
