Ikebukuro
is a commercial and entertainment district in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. Toshima ward offices, Ikebukuro station, and several shops, restaurants, and enormous department stores are located within city limits. At the center of Ikebukuro is the train and subway station, a huge urban gathering shared by the JR East lines, the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and the Tōbu Tōjō Line. It is one of the main commuter hubs in the western Yamanote area of Tokyo.

is an area in Nishi-Ikebukuro 2-chōme and 3-chōme, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan, mainly along Seibu Ikebukuro Line. This term is commonly used, but has never been used as an official district name. The etymology of Agariyashiki is considered to be the historical fact that its southern area, today officially known as Mejiro, Toshima and Shimo-Ochiai, Shinjuku, was a hunting zone owned by Tokugawa clan and its shoguns came to the present-day Agariyashiki area as a resting place.
Jiyu Gakuen Girls' School
, the "House of Tomorrow," is the original building complex of Jiyu Gakuen, designed by renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Arata Endo, working as an assistant for Wright's project constructing the Imperial Hotel, introduced Wright to his acquaintances Yoshikazu and Motoko Hani, who founded Jiyu Gakuen. Impressed by the couple's self-reliant, Christian-oriented educational philosophy, Wright accepted to undertake the design of their new school.
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space is a centre for the performing arts located in Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. It opened in 1990 and is operated by Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture. There is a concert hall with 1999 seats and a theatre with 841 seats as well as a number of smaller spaces. Yoshinobu Ashihara was the architect, with acoustical design by Nagata Acoustics.
