Ikebukuro
is a commercial and entertainment district in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. Toshima ward offices, Ikebukuro station, and several shops, restaurants, and enormous department stores are located within city limits. At the center of Ikebukuro is the train and subway station, a huge urban gathering shared by the JR East lines, the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and the Tōbu Tōjō Line. It is one of the main commuter hubs in the western Yamanote area of Tokyo.

With 2.71 million passengers on an average daily in 2007, it is the second-busiest railway station in the world, and the busiest station in the Tobu, Seibu, and Tokyo Metro networks. It primarily serves commuters from Saitama Prefecture and other residential areas northwest of the city centre. It is the Tokyo terminal of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line and the Tōbu Tōjō Line.

Sunshine City, Tokyo is a building complex located in East Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo. It is Tokyo's oldest city within the city and has the 240 metre tall Sunshine 60 skyscraper at its centre. It consists of four buildings and sits on land that was once occupied by Sugamo Prison. The complex, which was opened in 1978, contains the Sunshine 60 building with an observatory (observation deck) located at the top, the Ancient Orient Museum, an aquarium, and a planetarium.
Nekobukuro
is a petting zoo for cats located on the eighth floor of the Ikebukuro Tokyu Hands store. Nekobukuro is a play on the Japanese word for cat, "neko", and the location Ikebukuro. It is one of the better known cat-petting destinations, being included in tourist and sightseeing guides. For an entrance fee, customers may interact and play with any of the fifteen to twenty cats currently running free around Nekobukuro at the time.
Zōshigaya Station
is a station on the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line located in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. Its station number is F-10. The station opened on 14 June 2008. Relics dating back to Edo era were found during construction of the station and subsequently dug up and recovered. The station provides a direct interchange with Kishibojinmae Station on the Toden Arakawa Line. To prevent confuson, the former Zōshigaya Station on the Arakawa Line was renamed Toden Zōshigaya when the Fukutoshin Line opened.

Mejiro, Toshima, Tokyo is an upscale residential district of Toshima, Tokyo, Japan, centered at Mejiro Station of Yamanote Line. The district's name is after Mejiro Fudō, which is one of the Goshiki Fudō. Mejiro is home to the prestigious Gakushuin University. Impressed by the couple's self-reliant, Christian-oriented educational philosophy, Wright accepted to undertake the design of their new school.
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space
Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space is a centre for the performing arts located in Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. It opened in 1990 and is operated by Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture. There is a concert hall with 1999 seats and a theatre with 841 seats as well as a number of smaller spaces. Yoshinobu Ashihara was the architect, with acoustical design by Nagata Acoustics.
