The Tōyō Bunko, or "Oriental Library", is Japan's largest Asian studies library and one of the world's five largest. Myōgadani Station
Myōgadani Station is located on the Marunouchi Line of the Tokyo Metro System, two stops from the large centre of Ikebukuro. It is in a central location but serves the mainly residential area of Koishikawa and is seldom busy except at rush hour. Surrounding the station is a small commercial area with a few shops, supermarkets, izakayas and restaurants. It is close to several of Tokyo's universities, including Ochanomizu University and University of Tsukuba.
Ochanomizu University
Ochanomizu University is one of only two national women's universities in Japan. The other one is the Nara Women's University. "Ochanomizu", the name of the Tokyo neighborhood where the university was founded, means "honorable tea water" and refers to an "extremely diluted tea" that is "available free in many Japanese airports and train stations."

It is the oldest building of the University of Tokyo, and is open to general public as the annex of the general research museum. It was formerly used as a medical school.
