Higashiizumo, Shimane
Higashiizumo, Shimane was a town located in Yatsuka District, Shimane, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 13,817 and a density of 324.04 persons per km². The total area was 42.64 km². On August 1, 2011 Higashiizumo merged into the city of Matsue and no longer exist as an independent municipality. Yatsuka District was dissolved as a result of this merger.
Yatsuka District, Shimane
Yatsuka District, Shimane was a district located in Shimane, Japan. As of 2003, the district had an estimated population of 59,733 and a density of 169.95 persons per km². The total area was 351.47 km². Yatsuka district is notable for being the birthplace of sumo wrestler Jinmaku, the 12th Yokozuna in 1829. Yatsuka was known as Izumo Province at the time. Jinmaku is renowned for being the only wrestler never to lose a bout as Yokozuna.
Nakaumi
is a brackish lake located between Tottori and Shimane prefectures in Japan. The lake is enclosed by the Shimane Peninsula to the north and Yumigahama Peninsula to the east. It is the fifth largest lake in surface area in Japan. Nakaumi connects Lake Shinji (宍道湖 Shinji-ko) and the Sea of Japan, and is surrounded by the municipalities Matsue, Yasugi, Yonago and Sakaiminato. is a volcanic island in the middle of Nakaumi, a brackish lake between Tottori and Shimane prefectures in Japan. Daikon Island is administered as part of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. Daikon-jima takes its name from the daikon, the large, white East Asian radish. The island was, however, known throughout Japanese history as "Tako-shima", meaning "Octopus Island. " Daikon Island is a shield volcano, a type of volcano composed of fluid lava flows.

Matsue Station is a railway station on the Sanin Main Line of West Japan Railway Company (JR West) located in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, Japan. There is also a Nippon travel agency located just opposite the ticket gates in the station itself where transport enquiries and arrangements may also be made.
