Yunotsu, Shimane
Yunotsu, Shimane was a town located in Nima District, Shimane, Japan. On October 1, 2005 Yunotsu, along with the town of Nima, also from Nima District, was merged into the expanded city of Ōda. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 3,853 and a density of 53.63 persons per km². The total area was 71.85 km²
Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine
The Iwami Ginzan was a silver mine in the city of Ōda, Shimane Prefecture, on the main island of Honshū, Japan. It was the largest silver mine in Japanese history. It was active for almost four hundred years, since its discovery in 1526 until its eventual closing in 1923. It was added to the World Heritage List in 2007.
