Chūō-ku, Saitama is a ward (pop. 137,500) of Saitama City, Japan. It is surrounded by Sakura-ku (to the west), Minami-ku (south), Urawa-ku (east) and Ōmiya-ku (north) of Saitama city. It is a part of the Greater Tokyo Area and located about 20 kilometres north of central Tokyo. Despite its name, it is not quite the administrative or commercial / business centre of the city. It is rather the intersection of the sprawls from those centres.

Akigase Park
Akigase Park is a park in Japan that occupies a section of flood plain of the Arakawa River, which is located at the western edge of Saitama City. The park covers an area of 100.1ha on the eastern side of the river between its northern boundary, 3 km north of the Akigase Bridge, and the southern boundary, the Hanekura Bridge. In 1971, former Urawa City established the park as a measure to manage the rising issue of insufficient park availability stemmed from rapid urban expansion.
