Maniwa District, Okayama
Maniwa District, Okayama is a district located in Okayama, Japan. In 2003 the district had an estimated population of 48,246 and a density of 58.53 persons per km². The total area is 824.35 km². In 2005, the component towns and villages of Chūka, Katsuyama, Kawakami, Kuse, Mikamo, Ochiai, Yatsuka, Yubara, as well as the neighboring town of Hokubō united to form the city of Maniwa. Currently only one village, Shinjō, belongs to Maniwa District.

On March 31, 2005 Katsuyama was merged with the town of Hokubō, from Jōbō District, the towns of Ochiai, Yubara and Kuse, and the villages of Mikamo, Kawakami, Yatsuka and Chūka, all from Maniwa District, to form the new Maniwa City. In 2003 the town had an estimated population of 9,027 and a density of 65.04 persons per km². The total area was 138.79 km².

On March 31, 2005 Mikamo was merged with the town of Hokubō, from Jōbō District, and the towns of Katsuyama, Ochiai, Yubara and Kuse, and the villages of Kawakami, Yatsuka and Chūka, all from Maniwa District, to form the new city of Maniwa. In 2003 the village had an estimated population of 1,668 and a density of 24.83 persons per km². The total area was 67.19 km².
