Oshika District, Miyagi is a district located in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 16,069 and a population density of 115.80 persons per km². The total area is 138.76 km².
San Juan Bautista (ship)
San Juan Bautista (originally called Date Maru, 伊達丸 in Japanese) was one of Japan's first Japanese-built Western-style sailing ships. She crossed the Pacific in 1614. She was of the Spanish galleon type, known in Japan as nanban-sen (南蛮船, lit. "Southern Barbarian ships"). She transported a Japanese diplomatic mission of 180 people during the first leg of their trip to the Vatican as envoys to Pope Paul V, headed by Hasekura Tsunenaga and accompanied by the Spanish friar Luis Sotelo.

Although many stations on the Kesennuma Line were badly affected or even completely destroyed by the 2011 Japanese tsunami, Maeyachi was unaffected.

Ishinomaki Saint John the Apostle Orthodox Church
The Ishinomaki Saint John the Apostle Orthodox Church is an Orthodox Church in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, dedicated to St. John the Apostle, belonging to Orthodox Church in Japan. The original structure was built in 1880. As the old church building was damaged in 1978 Miyagi earthquake, it was reconstructed in a new location. Today, Ishinomaki Orthodox Church uses the other new church building after the earthquake. Sei-Shito Ioan Kaidō is listed on Ishinomaki Cultural Heritages by municipality.
Ishinomori Manga Museum
is a museum dedicated to the manga works of Shotaro Ishinomori, it sits on the bay facing the Pacific Ocean and Manga Island in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, Japan. Not to be confused with Ishinomori Memorial Museum. It was opened in 2001. After the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, though still standing, the Ishinomori Manga Museum was closed for repairs before reopening on November 17, 2012.
