Yokohama International School
Yokohama International School is an international school located in Yamate, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture, Japan catering primarily to the expatriate community in Yokohama. It consists of a pre-school (Early Learning Centre), a kindergarten/ elementary school (grades K-5), a middle school (6-8) and a high school (9-12), a total of 13 academic years. Its campus is located in an area known as ‘the Bluff’, next to the Yokohama Foreign General Cemetery.

Its official name, as shown on signage in the station, is Motomachi-Chūkagai Station (Yamashita-kōen) with the sub-name in parentheses although the use of this name is limited. It consists mainly of the Motomachi Shopping Street, a five-block long stretch of boutiques and shops, well known in Japan for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, original fashion, and Western influence.
Sacred Heart Cathedral, Yokohama
Sacred Heart Cathedral is the seat of the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Yokohama, Japan. The Yokohama diocese includes Kanagawa, Shizuoka, Nagano, and Yamanashi prefectures. As it is located at 44 Yamate-cho, Naka-ku, the cathedral is commonly known locally as Yamate Catholic Church . The original Yamate Catholic Church, a brick building with two bell towers, was built in the same location in 1906. The 1923 Great Kantō earthquake completely destroyed it.

Heichinrou, is a Chinese restaurant located in the Chinatown of Yokohama, Japan. It is privately held and is the oldest operating Chinese restaurant in Japan. The Zhang (張) family first started the restaurant and operated for it for two generations, then the Bao (鮑) family for three generations until Tatsuo Hayashi (林達雄) took over. Today his son, Yasuhiro Hayashi (林康弘) operates as the seventh president.

The predecessor of the school was founded by American Presbyterian missionaries in 1870 with the assistance of James Curtis Hepburn, primarily to teach the English language and western cultural values to women. The male counterpart of the school later became Meiji Gakuin University. It was chartered as a junior college in 1950 and became a four-year college in 1965.
