Namamugi Incident
The Namamugi Incident (also known sometimes as the Kanagawa Incident, and as the Richardson Affair) was a samurai assault on British nationals in Japan on September 14, 1862, which occurred one week before Ernest Satow set foot on Japanese soil for the first time. Failure by the Satsuma clan to respond to British demands for compensation resulted in the August 1863 bombardment of Kagoshima, during the Late Tokugawa shogunate.
Tsurumi rail accident
The Tsurumi rail accident (鶴見事故, Tsurumi jiko, or "Tsurumi accident") occurred on November 9, 1963 between Tsurumi Station and Shin-Koyasu Station on the Tōkaidō Main Line in Yokohama, Japan, about 30 kilometres south of Tokyo, when two passenger trains collided with a derailed freight train, killing 161 people.
Sōji-ji
is one of two daihonzan of the Sōtō school of Zen Buddhism. The other is Eiheiji temple in Fukui Prefecture. Fodor's calls it "one of the largest and busiest Buddhist institutions in Japan". The temple was founded in 740 as a Shingon Buddhist temple. Keizan, later known as Sōtō's great patriarch Taiso Jōsai Daishi, founded the present temple in 1321, when he renamed it Sōji-ji with the help and patronage of Emperor Go-Daigo.

Kagetsu-en's oval was 400 meters in circumference. A typical keirin race of 2,025 meters consisted of five laps around the course. Kagetsu-en closed on March 31, 2010.
