Kobe Port Tower
, a hyperboloid structure, is a 108 m high lattice tower in the port city of Kobe, Japan. Kobe Port Tower has an observation deck at a height of 90.28 metres. The red steel Port Tower offers a spectacular sight of the bay area and the surrounding area. The construction of the Kobe Port Tower was completed in 1963 and bears a resemblance to the Sydney Tower in Australia. The unusual design with scaffolding cover at the top is liked by tourists all over the world.
Kobe Luminarie
Kobe Luminarie is a light festival held in Kobe, Japan, every December since 1995 to commemorate the Great Hanshin earthquake of that year. The lights were donated by the Italian Government and the installation itself is produced by Valerio Festi and Hirokazu Imaoka. Over 200,000 individually hand painted lights are lit each year with electricity generated from biomass in order to stay environmentally friendly. Last year, Kobe held its 18th luminarie festival.

Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel is a hotel located close to Meriken Park, in Kobe, Japan. It was opened in June, 1995, only 6 months after the Great Hanshin earthquake destroyed much of the city. It is one of the more iconic buildings in the Kobe waterfront area called Harborland, and is often featured in pictures of Kobe, together with Kobe Port Tower. Yamato 1
The Yamato 1 is a boat built in the early 1990s by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd at Wadasaki-cho Hyogo-ku, Kobe. It uses a magnetohydrodynamic drive (MHD) driven by a liquid helium-cooled superconductor and can travel at 15 km/h. The Yamato 1 was the first working prototype of its kind. It was completed in Japan in 1991, by the Ship & Ocean Foundation (later known as the Ocean Policy Research Foundation). The ship was first successfully propelled in Kobe harbour in June 1992.

Motomachi Station is a railway station in Motomachi, Chūō-ku, Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the main stations serving the central business district of Kobe. The station is the closest access point to the Motomachi shopping district and to Nanking Town, one of Japan's three largest Chinatown districts.
Kobe Chinatown
Kobe Chinatown in Kobe, Japan is one of only three designated Chinatowns in Japan. It is located south of Motomachi station adjacent to the Daimaru Department Store and is a major tourist attraction. The area has over a hundred Chinese restaurants, shops, and a Chinese temple (関帝廟). Unlike its counterparts in Yokohama and Nagasaki, Kobe's Nankinmachi sets itself apart as being the most colorful and foreign-looking Chinatown in all of Japan.

Meriken Park is a waterfront park located in the port city of Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. The park features the Kobe Port Tower, Kobe Maritime Museum, and a memorial to victims of the Great Hanshin earthquake. The name of the park comes from the word "American," which was commonly translated as "Meriken" during the Meiji era. Meriken Park is also the location of the Hotel Okura Kobe and Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel.

Kobe City Museum
Kobe City Museum opened in Kobe, Japan in 1982. It is one of Japan's many museums which are supported by a municipality. The museum combines two previous collections, the Municipal Archaeological Art Museum and Municipal Namban Art Museum. The museum is housed in a neoclassical building built in 1935, the former Kobe branch of the Bank of Tokyo.
