Benten Daiba
was a key fortress of the Republic of Ezo in 1868-1869. It was located at the entrance of the bay of Hakodate, in the northern island of Hokkaidō, Japan. Benten Daiba was built by the Japanese architect Takeda Ayasaburō on the site formerly occupied by a shrine to Benten, the goddess of fortune. Goryōkaku Station is a railway station on the Hakodate Main Line and the Esashi Line of Hokkaido Railway Company (JR Hokkaido). It is located in Hakodate, Hokkaidō, Japan. The station is named after Goryōkaku fort, located about two kilometers from the station. Hakodate Freight Terminal of Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight) is adjacently located and had also been called Goryōkaku until the renaming on March 12, 2011.

Hakodate Racecourse
is a horse racing track in Hakodate, Japan, built in 1896. During the period between 2008 and 2009, Hakodate Racecourse was closed for renovation and refurbishment of the grandstand. Work was completed in June 2010. As part of this refurbishment, Mitsubishi Electric installed a Diamond Vision Screen. Races that were supposed to be held at Hakodate during that period were moved to Sapporo Racecourse. Hakodate Racecourse has both a grass course, and a dirt course.

Hakodate Velodrome
is a velodrome located in Hakodate, Hokkaido that conducts pari-mutuel Keirin racing - one of Japan's four authorized "Public Sports" where gambling is permitted. Its Keirin identification number for betting purposes is 11# (11 sharp). Hakodate's oval is 400 meters in circumference. A typical keirin race of 2,025 meters consists of five laps around the course. Hakodate Velodrome is the only facility on the island of Hokkaido used for Keirin races.

The stadium was completely renovated in 2001, and since then has also been used by the J. League team Consadole Sapporo.
Kōsetsu-en
Kōsetsu-en is a garden that fuses Japanese and Western styles in Hakodate, Hokkaidō, Japan. It was constructed in 1898 (or alternatively 1895) by a prominent merchant by the name of Iwafune. The gardens are a nationally-designated Place of Scenic Beauty.
Shiryōkaku
is a fort in the city of Hakodate in southern Hokkaidō, Japan. It was constructed in April 1869, during the Battle of Hakodate, three kilometres to the northeast of Goryōkaku by two hundred soldiers of the former Tokugawa shogunate and a hundred local villagers, likely under the direction of Ōtori Keisuke. Goryōkaku is a star fort with five triangular bastions; Shiryōkaku instead has four, and is sometimes known as the "butterfly fort" as opposed to the "star fort".
