Momoishi, Aomori
Momoishi, Aomori was a town located in Kamikita District in central Aomori Prefecture, Japan. On March 1, 2006 Momoishi was merged into the neighboring town of Shimoda to form the new town of Oirase, and thus it no longer exists as an independent municipality. Momoishi Village was founded on April 1, 1889. On April 20, 1929 it was elevated to town status.
Oirase River
The Oirase River is a river located in eastern Aomori prefecture, Japan. The Oirase River is the only river draining Lake Towada, a large caldera lake on the border of Aomori and Akita Prefectures. The river flows in a generally eastern direction, through the municipalities of Towada, Rokunohe, Oirase and Hachinohe before exiting into the Pacific Ocean.
