Green Bay massacre
The Green Bay Massacre was a covert operation carried out by special forces of the Jamaican Government on 5 January 1978, in which 5 Jamaica Labour Party supporters were shot dead. The operation entailed the luring of the men into an ambush at the Green Bay Firing Range by members of the Military Intelligence Unit which was and still is a covert operational wing of the Jamaica Defence Force.

Ferdi Neita Sports Complex (sometimes Feride) is a multi-use stadium in Portmore, Jamaica. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It serves as a home ground of Portmore United F.C.. The stadium holds 3,000 people.

Prinzessin Victoria Luise was a German passenger ship of the Hamburg-America Line of some 4,409 gross register tons (GRT). She is credited with having been the first purpose-built cruise ship. Ascot High School
Ascot High School is a coeducational secondary school for 11- to 18-year-olds in Portmore, St Catherine, Jamaica. It admits students who pass the Grade Six Achievement test (GSAT). The school shares a site with Ascot Primary School, Ascot Basic School and a large, multi-purpose sports field used by all three schools.
Fort Augusta Adult Correctional Centre
Fort Augusta Adult Correctional Centre, formerly Fort Augusta Prison, is Jamaica's only prison for women. It was built to accommodate 250 female inmates but has held over 280 on occasions. It has been known to run short of food. It is operated by the Department of Correctional Services for the Ministry of National Security. Fort Augusta was originally an ocean side fortress built by the English in the 1740s to provide the main defence for Kingston Harbour’s west side.
Caymanas Park
Caymanas Park is Jamaica's only race track. It is mentioned in the Pioneer's song Longshot Kick The Bucket, which was covered by The Specials, in the line "What a weeping and a wailing down at Caymanas Park."
Invasion of Jamaica (1655)
The Invasion of Jamaica was an amphibious expedition conducted by the English in the Caribbean in 1655 that resulted in the capture of the island from Spain. Jamaica's capture was the cassus belli that resulted in actual war between England and Spain in 1655.
Cagway Bay
Cagway Bay as the English called it following their arrival in Jamaica during the invasion of 1655 had been known to the earlier Taino and Spanish occupiers as Caguay or Caguaya bay. The bay in turn got its name from the Taino name for the sand spit now known as the Palisadoes which protects the bay or, as it is now known as, Kingston Harbour.
