Battle of Santa Lucia
The battle of Santa Lucia was an episode in the First Italian War of Independence. On 6 May 1848, when the king of Sardinia, Carlo Alberto, sent I Corps of the Sardinian army to assault the fortified positions held before the walls of Verona by the Austrian army under field marshal Josef Radetzky. The Austrian army, though outnumbered, managed to withstand the attack and hold their positions. The battle is named after the Santa Lucia district of Verona.
Porta Borsari
Porta Borsari is an ancient Roman gate in Verona, northern Italy. It dates to the 1st century AD, though it was most likely built over a pre-existing gate from the 1st century BC. An inscription dating from emperor Gallienus' reign reports another reconstruction in 265 AD. The Via Postumia (which here became the decumanus maximus) passed through the gate, which was the city's main entrance and was therefore richly decorated. It also originally had an inner court, now disappeared.
Porta Leoni
Porta Leoni is an ancient Roman gate in Verona, northern Italy. The gate was built during the Roman Republic by P. Valerius, Q. Caecilius, Q. Servilius and P. Cornelius, and restructured in imperial times. It was connected to the road which led to Bologna and Aquileia. The original Roman name is unknown. During the Middle Ages it was called Porta San Fermo, due to the nearby church, while in the Renaissance it was known as Arco di Valerio.

The PalaOlimpia (or PalaSport Verona) is a multi-purpose arena in Verona, Italy. It is home to the Scaligera Verona basketball team. In 2010, it hosted matches for the 2010 FIVB Men's World Championship. It's seating capacity is 5,350 spectators.

The Arco dei Gavi is an ancient structure in Verona, northern Italy. It was built by the gens Gavia, a noble Roman family who had their hometown in Verona, at the beginning of the Via Postumia, the Roman road leading to the city. During the Middle Ages it was used as a gate in the walls.

Scalzi (Verona)
The church of the Scalzi (Chiesa degli Scalzi) is a religious building in Verona, named after the Discalced Carmelites who commissioned it. The order had arrived in Verona in 1663 and was initially housed in a Dominican monastery. Bit by bit they bought other buildings and obtained a grant of three fields from the city in adjoining land - the following year they moved to their new base and in 1666 began work building a church and monastic buildings.

The PalaIper is an indoor sporting arena in Monza, Italy. It is home to the Pallavolo Gabeca volleyball team. In 2011, it hosted matches for the 2011 Women's European Volleyball Championship. A few rounds of the Men's Volleyball World League were played in the arena in 2008. Its seating capacity is 4,500 spectators.
San Fermo Maggiore (Verona)
San Fermo Maggiore is a church built in Romanesque style in central Verona. A church at this site may has been traced to the 8th century, and by the 11th century a second story and belltower was added by the Benedictine order. The campanile was not completed until the 13th century, it contains six bells in F cast in 1755 and rung with the Veronese bellringing art. The exterior has a roofline with pinnacles, and the church once held the tomb of a member of the Scaligers.
Padre Filippini (Verona)
The church of Padri Filippini, also known as the church of the Filippini, is a Neoclassical church in Verona, which like the older and neighboring church of San Fermo Maggiore is dedicated to the saints Fermo and Rustico. Finding the older church of San Fermo Minore too narrow and cramped, the Oratorians in 1746 decided to replace it with this larger structure using plans by Andrea Camerata, Construction was completed in 1791.
San Giovanni in Foro (Verona)
The church of San Giovanni in Foro in Verona, is located on corso Magenta, near the Piazza Erbe, the site of the ancient Roman Forum on Corso Porta Borsari. A church at this site was gravely damaged during the fire that swept medieval Verona in 1172. During restorations in the early 1900s, it was found that roman walls had been incorporated into the external walls of the church. The base of the bell-tower dates from the 14th century.
