Janiculum
The Janiculum is a hill in western Rome, Italy. Although the second-tallest hill (the tallest being Monte Mario) in the contemporary city of Rome, the Janiculum does not figure among the proverbial Seven Hills of Rome, being west of the Tiber and outside the boundaries of the ancient city.
Trastevere
Trastevere is a, with the accent on the second syllable. Its logo is a golden head of a lion on a red background, the meaning of which is uncertain. To the north, Trastevere borders on to the XIV rione, Borgo.
Domus Sanctae Marthae

San Pancrazio
The church of San Pancrazio (English: S. Pancras; Latin: S. Pancratii) is a Roman Catholic ancient basilica and titular church founded by Pope Symmachus in the 6th century in Rome, Italy. It stands in via S. Pancrazio, westward beyond the Porta San Pancrazio that opens in a stretch of the Aurelian Wall on the Janiculum. The Cardinal Priest of the Titulus S. Pancratii is Antonio Cañizares Llovera.
San Gregorio VII
The Church of Saint Gregory VII (Italian: Chiesa di San Gregorio VII) is a Roman Catholic parish church on the Via del Cottolengo (Via Gregorio VII), Rome dedicated to Saint Gregory VII. It was built by Mario Paniconi and Giulio Pediconi from 1960 to 1961, to serve a parish erected by Pope Pius XII in 1952. Its roof is held by 10 concrete piers, and is structurally independent of the walls, which end before they reach the roof (the empty space between them being filled with glass).
Transport in Vatican City
The transportation system in Vatican City, a country 1.05 km long and 0.85 km wide, is a small transportation system with no airports or highways. Given an average walking speed of 3.6 km/h, Vatican City can be crossed in 20 minutes or less. Thus, much of the infrastructure in the Vatican consists of St. Peter's Square itself, hallways and aisles in the basilica and surrounding buildings, and walkways behind and between the buildings.
Santa Passera
Santa Passera is a church in the south of Rome on the other bank of the curve in the river from the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. The current church, erected in the ninth century, incorporated a Roman tomb. The church served a small community of miners who worked in the tuff quarries of the nearby hills. The interior retains some remnants of medieval frescoes.
Aqua Traiana
The Aqua Traiana (later rebuilt and named the Acqua Paola) was a 1st-century Roman aqueduct built by Emperor Trajan and inaugurated on 24 June 109 AD. It channelled water from sources around Lake Bracciano, 40 kilometers (25 mi) north-west of Rome, to Rome in ancient Roman times but had fallen into disuse by the 17th century. It fed water mills arranged in a parallel sequence at the Janiculum, under the present American Academy in Rome.
Aqua Tepula
The Aqua Tepula is an ancient Roman aqueduct built in 126 BC by censors G. Servilius Caepio and L. Cassius Longinus. Its source was at the Alban hills, running only a mere 18 kilometers to Rome. The water from the Aqua Tepula, as implied in the name, was tepid and lukewarm, and thus was, as Frontinus states, not fit for human consumption.
Baldo degli Ubaldi (Rome Metro)
Baldo degli Ubaldi is a station on Line A of the Rome Metro, situated on via Baldo degli Ubaldi, near the crossroads with Via Francesco Scaduto. The station was inaugurated, along with the others between Valle Aurelia and Battistini, on January 1, 2000.
Rail transport in Vatican City
|} Rail transport in Vatican City consists of two 300-metre sets of rail tracks and two freight sidings within Vatican City (named Vatican Railway, Ferrovia Vaticana), the shortest national railway system in the world, with only one station. Access to Italian rail lines was guaranteed by the Lateran Treaty (1929), and tracks and station were constructed during the reign of Pope Pius XI. The only station is referred to as Vatican City .
Porta San Pancrazio
The Porta San Pancrazio is a gate in the district Janiculum, Rome, Italy. It was built in 1854 by Virginio Vespignani. It replaces the old one which was erected at the time of Pope Urban VIII and later severely damaged during battles in 1849.
Catacomb of Calepodius
The Catacomb of Calepodius (also called the Cemetery of Calepodius) is one of the Catacombs of Rome, notable for containing the tombs of Pope Callixtus I (ironically, the creator of the Catacomb of Callixtus, which once contained the tombs of a dozen other popes) and Pope Julius I, along with the eponymous Calepodius.
Villa Lante al Gianicolo
Villa Lante al Gianicolo is a villa in Rome, Italy, on the Gianicolo Hill. This summer house was designed by Giulio Romano during the early part of the 16th century and came into the ownership of Ippolito Lante Montefeltro della Rovere, Duke of Bomarzo, during the 17th century. The later-impoverished Lante family had to sell the Villa Lante in Rome by the early 19th century.
Fontana dell'Acqua Paola
The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola also known as Il Fontanone ("The big fountain") is a monumental fountain located on the Janiculum Hill, near the church of San Pietro in Montorio, in Rome, Italy. It was built in 1610-12 to mark the end of the Acqua Paola acqueduct, restored by Pope Paul V, and took its name from him. It was the first major fountain on the left bank of the River Tiber.
Pons Probi
The Pons Probi (Bridge of Probus) was a bridge over the River Tiber in Ancient Rome, just south of Porta Trigemina. The Pons Probi connected the Aventine Hill to the Trastevere. The Roman bridge was probably built during the reign of the Emperor Probus (276–282 AD). Possibly it was built because of the grain reforms of Aurelian, Probus's predecessor, which necessitated a number of aqueduct-powered water mills in this area, and a bridge to transport the grain from these across the Tiber.

Roma Trastevere railway station (Italian: Stazione di Roma Trastevere) is a major railway station serving the city and comune of Rome, Italy. Opened in 1911, it forms part of the Pisa–Livorno–Rome, Rome–Capranica–Viterbo and Rome–Fiumicino railways. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni. Train services are operated by Trenitalia.

Roma San Pietro railway station (Italian: Stazione di Roma San Pietro) is a major station serving the city and comune of Rome, Italy. Opened in 1894, the station forms part of the Pisa–Livorno–Rome railway and the Rome–Capranica–Viterbo railway. It is also the junction for the short, single track Rome–Vatican City railway, which crosses into Vatican City after passing over a viaduct. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). Train services are operated by Trenitalia.

Santa Maria delle Grazie alle Fornaci fuori Porta Cavalleggeri
Santa Maria delle Grazie alle Fornaci fuori Porta Cavalleggeri (Saint Mary of Graces at the Furnaces outside the Cavalleggeri Gate), is a Baroque parish and titular church at Piazza di Santa Maria alle Fornaci, south of Vatican City and north of the San Pietro train station in the Aurelio quarter. It was made a cardinalate deaconry by Pope John Paul II on 25 May 1985, and assigned it to Cardinal Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy, then Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori, Rome
Santa Maria dei Sette Dolori is a Baroque church in Rome built attached to a convent in the rione of Trastevere, located on Via Garibaldi, near the intersection with Via dei Panieri. Construction of the church was begun in 1643 with plans by Francesco Borromini, annexed to a Augustinian nunnery that was founded by Camilla-Virginia Savelli Farnese, Duchess of Latera. However, when the fortunes of the House of Farnese declined, so did the funding for the church, and by 1655 the work was stopped.
Monument to Garibaldi (Rome)
The Equestrian monument dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi is an imposing equestrian statue placed in Rome on the highest point of the Janiculum hill. It was released by Emilio Gallori in 1895, and has been referred by the title "the Hero of the Two Worlds".
