Forest of the Martyrs
The Forest of the Martyrs (Ya'ar HaKdoshim) is a forest on the outskirts of Jerusalem, Israel. It is on the western edge of Eshtaol Forest near Beit Meir. It was planted as a memorial to those who died in the Holocaust and will eventually contain six million trees, symbolizing the six million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis in World War II. The memorial contains a sculpture by Nathan Rapoport, entitled Scroll of Fire.
Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim
Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim (ישיבת אור ירושלים) is a yeshiva which caters to English-speaking students spending a year in Israel after high school. It is located on Moshav Beit Meir, 9 miles west of Jerusalem.
Beit Meir
Beit Meir is a religious moshav in central Israel. Located in the Jerusalem hills around nine miles from Jerusalem, just off the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 546. The moshav was established on the land of the depopulated Palestinian village named Bayt Mahsir in 1950. The moshav was named after Rabbi Meir Bar-Ilan.

Jaffa–Jerusalem railway

The Jaffa–Jerusalem railway (also J & J) is a railroad that connected Jaffa and Jerusalem. The line was built in Ottoman Palestine by the French company Société du Chemin de Fer Ottoman de Jaffa à Jérusalem et Prolongements and inaugurated in 1892, after previous attempts by the Jewish philanthropist Moses Montifiore failed.
Kasla, Jerusalem
Kasla was a Palestinian Arab village in the District of Jerusalem. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on July 17, 1948 by the Har'el Brigade of Operation Dani. It was located 17 km west of Jerusalem. The Canaanites and Romans referred to Kasla as the city of Chesalon. Kasla has several khirbas including a shrine for a local sage known as al-Shaykh Ahmad.
Scroll of Fire
Scroll of Fire is a monument found in the Jerusalem hills, and it commemorates Jewish history from The Holocaust until Independence. The monument was inaugurated in 1971. The initiative for the monument came from B'nai B'rith of the United States, and was funded by them. The site was chosen by Yosef Weitz, the director of the Land and Afforestation Department of the Jewish National Fund. The monument was sculptured by the artist Nathan Rapoport, who is a Holocaust survivor.
