Tel Dor
This article is about the ancient cities and archaeological site. For other uses, see Dor (disambiguation). Tel Dor (Kh. al-Burj or Tantura), is an archeological site located on Israel's Mediterranean coast, about 30 km south of Haifa. Lying on a small headland at the north side of a protected inlet, it is identified with D-jr of Egyptian sources, Biblical Dor, and with Dor/Dora of Greek and Roman sources.
Tabun Cave
The Tabun Cave is an excavated cave located at Nahal Me'arot Nature Reserve, Israel and is one of Human Evolution sites at Mount Carmel, which were proclaimed as universal value by UNESCO in 2012. Tha cave was occupied intermittently during the Lower and Middle Paleolithic ages (500,000 to around 40,000 years ago). In the course of this period, deposits of sand, silt and clay of up to 25 meters accumulated in the cave.
Es Skhul
Es Skhul is a cave site situated c. 20 kilometers south of the city of Haifa, Israel, and c. 3 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The prehistoric site, was first excavated by Dorothy Garrod in the summer of 1928. The excavations revealed the first evidence of the late Epipalaeolithic Natufian culture, characterised by the presence of abundant microliths, human burials and ground stone tools.

Kafr Lam
Kafr Lam was a Palestinian Arab village located 26 kilometres south of Haifa on the Mediterranean coast. The name of the village was shared with that of an Islamic fort constructed there early on in the period of Arab Caliphate rule (638-1099 CE) in Palestine. To the Crusaders, both the fort and the village, which they controlled for some time in the 13th century, were known as Cafarlet. Kafr Lam was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.
HaBonim disaster
The HaBonim disaster was a tragic accident on June 11, 1985 in which a train crashed into a bus of schoolchildren on an outing from Y.H. Brenner middle school in Petah Tikva. The crash took place near Moshav HaBonim. Twenty-two people were killed: 19 students, a teacher, the bus driver, and a parent.
Khirbat al-Sawamir
Khirbat al-Sawamir was a Palestinian Arab village in the District of Haifa. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on May 22, 1948. It was located 22 kilometres south of Haifa. The census of 1596 indicated it had a population of 17. In 1931 this had grown to 1,439.
Nahal Me'arot Nature Reserve
Nahal Me’arot Nature Reserve is a site of human evolution at Mount Carmel in Haifa, Northern Israel. It has four caves such as Me’arat HaTanur (the Oven Cave; also known as Tabun Cave), Me’arat HaGamal (the Camel Cave), Me’arat HaNahal (the Stream Cave) and Me’arat HaGedi (the Young Goat Cave). The site was proclaimed as universal value by UNESCO in 2012. The site indicates the prehistoric man’s settlements and unique evidence of a first burial.
