Democratic School of Hadera
The Democratic School of Hadera is a democratic school in Hadera, Israel. It was founded in 1987 by Yaacov Hecht. With around 380 students aged four to eighteen, it is the largest of the twenty-five Israeli democratic schools. The school is governed by a weekly school parliament in which all students, teachers, parents and alumni have an equal vote. However, few parents and alumni participate in parliament meetings.
Hadera bus station suicide bombing
The Hadera bus station suicide bombing was a 1994 Hamas suicide attack on a passenger bus departing from the central bus station in Hadera for Tel Aviv, Israel. Six were killed and 30 injured. The attack came exactly one week after another Hamas attack, the Afula Bus suicide bombing. The attack took place on the Israeli Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terrorism Remembrance Day. Hamas bombmaker Yahya Ayyash built a bomb using two kilograms of home-made acetone peroxide explosive.
Kfar Brandeis
Kfar Brandeis is a suburb of the Israeli city of Hadera. Kfar Brandeis was founded in 1927, named after Louis Brandeis, an American supreme court judge and the founder of "The Economic Company for the Land of Israel". The company purchased land South of Hadera from a Bedouin clan in order to settle forty families there. Each family received a farm of 20 chickens and one cow, a share in a joint orchard and a little home with one room, a small kitchen and a balcony.
Hadera Stream
Hadera Stream, also known as the Nahr Mufjir, is a seasonal watercourse that flows from the highlands in the northern West Bank and empties into the Mediterranean Sea at the Israeli city of Hadera. The stream has been polluted by the Orot Rabin Power Plant. The Hadera Water Park, located between Givat Olga and the power plant, is a 750-dunam park that holds a 40-metre-wide creek banked by a 1.3-km-long promenade.
Hogla, Israel
Hogla is a moshav in central Israel. It is named after Hogla, who settled here in the district of the tribe of Menashe . Located in the coastal plain to the south of Hadera, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hefer Valley Regional Council. It had a population of 574 in 2006. The moshav was founded in 1933 by from Bulgarian, Polish and Russian immigrants.
Pardes Hanna bus bombing
The Pardes Hanna bus bombing was a suicide bombing on November 29, 2001 on an Egged bus in northern Israel. The bus, en route from Nazereth to Tel Aviv, was traveling through the town of Pardes Hanna-Karkur. Three passengers were killed in the attack and 9 were injured. Both Fatah and Palestinian Islamist militant organization Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.
Hadera Market bombing
The Hadera Market bombing was a suicide bombing which occurred on October 26, 2005 at the entrance to the main fruit and vegetable open-air market in Hadera. The site of the attack was chosen in order to cause maximum number of casualties. Seven people were killed in the attack, and 55 were injured, of them five in severe condition. The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.
