Weizmann Institute of Science
The Weizmann Institute of Science is a public research university in Rehovot, Israel. It differs from other Israeli universities in that it offers only graduate and post-graduate studies in the sciences. It is one of the world’s leading multidisciplinary research centers, with around 2,500 scientists, postdoctoral fellows, Ph.D. and M. Sc. students, and scientific, technical, and administrative staff working at the Institute.

The institute's work is a closely guarded secret. It is suspected of also developing biological and chemical weapons and defenses against them, as well as toxins for use by Israeli intelligence in assassinations. It is located in Ness Ziona, 20 kilometers south of Tel Aviv.
Tzrifin
Tzrifin is an area in Gush Dan (Dan Region) in central Israel, located on the eastern side of Rishon LeZion and including parts of Be'er Ya'akov. The area proper is defined as an 'area without jurisdiction' between the two cities. Nearly the entire area of Tzrifin proper is taken up by the central Israel Defense Forces base, Camp Yigael Yadin (a.k.a. Camp Tzrifin, Camp 782), with which it is synonymous, even though the base also spills into Rishon LeZion and Be'er Ya'akov.
Haberfeld Stadium
Haberfeld Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Rishon LeZion, Israel. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Hapoel Rishon LeZion. The stadium holds 6,000 and was built in 1993. The stadium is named after former Israel Football Association chairman Haim Haberfeld.

Rishon LeZion HaRishonim Railway Station
Rishon LeZion - HaRishonim Railway Station is a station of Israel Railways in Rishon LeZion, part of the Tel Aviv – Rishon LeZion line. The station is located in the southern area of the city, in the middle of HaRishonim Interchange, at the intersection of the new Highway 431 and Route 412 (Rishon LeZion – Nes Ziona road). It was opened on September 13, 2003 with the Bet Shemesh Railway Station. The station has two platforms. It is the southern terminus of the suburban line to Tel Aviv Central.
Kaplan Medical Center
The Kaplan Medical Center is a hospital in Rehovot, Israel, located in the south of the city next to the Bilu Junction. In 2001, the hospital had 625 beds and in May 2007 was the tenth largest hospital in Israel. It serves the entire northern Shephelah region, between Rehovot and Ashdod and serves Ashdod along with Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. It was founded in 1953 and was named after Eliezer Kaplan, a well-known Zionist and the first Finance Minister of Israel.

Rehovot Railway Station is an Israel Railways passenger station located in the city of Rehovot. It serves the city, the Weizmann Institute of Science and the nearby science industries park, as well as the city of Ness Ziona. The station is named after Ehud Hadar, CEO of Israel Railways between 1994 and 1996.
Gibton
Gibton is a moshav in central Israel. Located near Rehovot, it falls under the jurisdiction of Brenner Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 299. It was founded in 1933 as part of the Settlement of the Thousand plan. The plan aimed to establish small agricultural settlements around the larger towns and help defend them against Arab rioters. It was named after an ancient town in the territory of the Tribe of Dan which is mentioned in the Tanakh: Joshua 19:44.
Gan Raveh Regional Council
Gan Raveh Regional Council is a regional council in the Center District of Israel. The council's area of jurisdiction extends to eight settlements: a kibbutz, six moshavim and a youth village. In 2006, the total population was 5,000. The council serves Ayanot, Beit Hanan, Beit Oved, Ge'alya, Gan Sorek, Kfar HaNagid, Neta'im and Palmachim. The head of the local council is Shlomo Elimelech.

Beit Oved is a moshav in central Israel. Located on the outskirts of Ness Ziona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gan Raveh Regional Council. In 2006, Beit Oved had a population of 306.
Ge'alya
Ge'alya, sometimes written Galia, is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the coastal plain and covering 2,000 dunams, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gan Raveh Regional Council. In 2007 it had a population of 1,200. The moshav was founded in 1948 by new immigrants from Bulgaria. It is located near the ancient site of Tel Shalaf, where Iron Age artefacts have been found, and which is associated with the Biblical city of Eltekeh within the first Dan tribal area .
Gan Sorek
Gan Sorek is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the coastal plain around four kilometres south-west of Rishon LeZion and covering 700 dunams, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gan Raveh Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 326. The moshav was founded on the land of the depopulated Palestinian village of Nabi Rubin in 1950 by immigrants from Poland and Romania and it is named after the nearby Nahal Sorek.
Yashresh
Yashresh is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the Shephelah around three kilometres south of Ramle and covering roughly 500 dunams, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 770. The moshav was founded in 1950 by immigrants from Morocco. Like neighbouring Yatzitz, its name is taken from Isaiah 27:6; In days to come shall Jacob take root, Israel shall blossom and bud; and the face of the world shall be filled with fruitage.
Surafend affair
The Surafend affair was the premeditated massacre of many male inhabitants from the Arab village of Surafend and a Bedouin camp in Palestine by soldiers of the Anzac Mounted Division on 10 December 1918. The massacre, believed to have been in response to the murder of a New Zealand soldier by a villager, was mostly overshadowed by the military achievements of the Division, although it caused a significant rift between the Division and its Commander-in-Chief, General Sir Edmund Allenby.
Weizmann House
The Weizmann House was the home of the first President of Israel, Chaim Weizmann, and first First Lady, Vera Weizmann. The house sits atop a hill in Rehovot, and is now part of the Weizmann Institute of Science. The house was designed by Jewish architect Erich Mendelsohn, and recognized as a masterpiece.

The Volcani Institute of Agricultural Research is an agricultural research center in Beit Dagan, Israel. The Volcani Institute is named for its founder and director for 30 years, Yitzhak Elazari Volcani. It was the first agricultural research institution in Palestine. It began as an agricultural experimental station in Ben Shemen.

Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan Railway Station
The Rishon LeZion Moshe Dayan Railway Station is an Israel Railways station in Rishon LeZion. The station is located adjacent to the Moshe Dayan Interchange on the Ayalon Highway. As of September 2011 it serves as the terminus of a new suburban passenger line serving the cities of Holon, Bat Yam, and Rishon LeZion in southern Gush Dan. Current travel time from the station to Tel Aviv HaHagana Railway Station is about 18 minutes.
