Netanya Stadium

The Netanya Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Netanya. Financing of the stadium came from the sale of the land where the old Sar-Tov Stadium was on before being demolished to be used for a housing project. The first game was played on November 4, 2012 in front of a sold out crowd as Maccabi Netanya defeated Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-1. Netanya's Achmad Saba'a became the first player to score a goal in the new stadium.

The Sergeants affair

The Sergeants affair was an incident that took place in Mandate Palestine in July 1947 in which the Jewish underground group the Irgun kidnapped two British army Intelligence Corps NCOs, Sergeant Clifford Martin and Sergeant Mervyn Paice, and threatened to kill them if the death sentences passed on Irgun militants arrested by the British authorities on charges of illegal possession of arms, and with 'intent to kill or cause other harm to a large number of people', were carried out.

Beit Yehoshua

Beit Yehoshua is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the coastal plain near Netanya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hof HaSharon Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 784. The village was established as a kibbutz on 17 August 1938 by garin of the Bnei Akiva and haNoar Hatzioni movemenst as part of the tower and stockade settlement programme. According to the Jewish National Fund, the original settlers were orthodox and were engaged in intensive farming and citrus.

Geulim

For the neighborhood in Jerusalem known as "Geulim", see Baka. Geulim is a moshav in central Israel. Located in the Sharon plain near Netanya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Lev HaSharon Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 774. The village was founded on 17 November 1938 as a tower and stockade settlement by immigrants from Germany, and was initially named Bnei Geulim (lit. Sons of the Freed).
