Tuosist GAA
Tuosist GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Tuosist in County Kerry, Ireland. It is the only Kerry club on the Beara Peninsula as all other clubs are in County Cork. The club competes as a joint divisional side with other clubs from the Kenmare area like in the county championships and as an individual club in other competitions like the Kerry County League division 3 and the Kerry Novice Football Championship. They are the Current Finnegan Cup holders. The club was founded in 1972.
R574 road (Ireland)
The R574 is an Irish regional road in the Beara peninsula which crosses the Caha Mountains via the (Tim) Healy Pass. It runs from the R571 at Adrigole in County Cork to the R572 near Lauragh in County Kerry. It is a popular tourist route with the pass at an altitude of 300m giving panoramas towards Bantry Bay to the south-east and the Kenmare River to the north-west. The original track, called the Kerry Pass, was cut during the Great Famine as a poor relief public works project.
Derreen Garden
Derreen Garden lies on a promontory in the Bay of Kilmakilloge on the Beara Peninsula, near Kenmare in County Kerry. Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 4th Marquess of Lansdowne (1816–1866) initiated the planting of the garden in 1863, but it was his son, Henry Charles Keith Petty-FitzMaurice, 5th Marquess of Lansdowne (1845-1927), who from 1870 onwards gave the garden its present shape. Today it covers more than 60 acres and includes nearly 12 km of paths.
