Kingdom of Ireland
The Kingdom of Ireland refers to the country of Ireland in the period between the proclamation of Henry VIII as King of Ireland by the Crown of Ireland Act 1542 and the Act of Union in 1800. It replaced the Lordship of Ireland, which had been created in 1171. King Henry VIII was recognised as monarch of Ireland by some Protestant powers in Europe, although not by the Catholic monarchies in Europe. However, his daughter Mary I was recognised as Queen of Ireland by the pope in 1555.
Lordship of Ireland
The Lordship of Ireland (Irish: Tiarnas na hÉireann) was a period of feudal rule in Ireland between 1177 and 1542 under the King of England, styled as Lord of Ireland. The lordship was created as a Papal possession following the Norman invasion of Ireland in 1169–71. As the Lord of Ireland was also King of England, he was represented locally by the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland. Ostensibly, the lordship extended throughout all of Ireland.
Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies
The Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS) (Irish: Institiúid Ard-Léinn Bhaile Átha Cliath) Dublin, Ireland was established in 1940 by the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) of the time, Éamon de Valera under the Institute for Advanced Studies Act, 1940. The Institute consists of 3 schools: The School of Theoretical Physics, the School of Cosmic Physics and the School of Celtic studies.
Focus Theatre
The Focus Theatre in Dublin is a small but respected theatre which offers a variety of plays from new and established writers. Focus Theatre's Acting Studio was founded in April 1963 by the Irish American actor, Deirdre O'Connell (d. 2001). The Focus Theatre itself was founded by O'Connell and her husband, Luke Kelly of The Dubliners in 1967, and opened on 29 September with a production of Doris Lessing's Play With a Tiger.
Central Catholic Library
The Central Catholic Library (Irish: Leabharlann an Chreidimh) is a library located in Dublin, Ireland. It was founded by Fr. Stephen Brown, S.J. on June 25, 1922 with the goal of helping the laity to educate themselves. It is a voluntary subscription library (the last remaining in the Republic of Ireland) and open to visitors six days a week. It has a lending section, a reference section and several collections stored in different parts of the building.

The St. John Ambulance Brigade of Ireland (SJAB) is a charitable voluntary organisation in Ireland. For constitutional reasons it is not a full member association of the Venerable Order of Saint John and the international St. John Ambulance movement, but rather is classed as an "associated body". The Brigade is dedicated to the teaching and practice of medical first aid.
Leeson Street
Leeson Street is a thoroughfare near central Dublin, Ireland. Originally known as Suesey Street, it was renamed in 1728 after the Leesons, a family of local brewers, who branched into property development and subsequently became Earls of Milltown. The street is divided into two parts by the Grand Canal: Lower Leeson Street is to the north of the canal, linking to St Stephen's Green, with Upper Leeson Street south of the canal. The Ombudsman's main office is on the street.
Fitzwilliam Square
Fitzwilliam Square is a small but historic Georgian square in the south of central Dublin, Ireland. It was the last of the five Georgian squares in Dublin to be built. The square was developed by Richard FitzWilliam, 7th Viscount FitzWilliam, hence the name. It was designed from 1789 and laid out in 1792. The center of the square was enclosed in 1813 through an Act of parliament. To the north is the much larger Merrion Square, with which Richard FitzWilliam was also involved.

L'Ecrivain is a restaurant on Lower Baggot Street in Dublin, Ireland, which was awarded one Michelin star from 2003 to the present. The Michelin Guide awarded the restaurant the "Red M", indicating "good food at a reasonable price", in the period 1996–1999.
Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children
The Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC) is an Irish charity that advocates for children's rights and provides services for children in need. It was founded as a successor to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children which had operated in Ireland from 1889 to 1956. The first Irish branch of the NSPCC was founded in Dublin in May 1889, with branches founded in Cork and Belfast in 1891.
