The building is located in Ballsbridge, Dublin, and was designed by American architect John M. Johansen, in consultation with Irish architect Michael Scott. It was constructed between 1962 and 1964 on a triangular site at 42 Elgin Road.

Belfield, Dublin
Belfield is a small enclave, not quite a suburb, located to the south of Ireland's capital city Dublin. It has a distinct identity because of, and is generally synonymous with, the main campus of University College Dublin. Belfield is close to Donnybrook, Ballsbridge, Clonskeagh, Goatstown and Stillorgan and takes its name from Belfield House and Demesne, one of eight properties bought to form the main campus of University College Dublin. It is adjacent to the N11 road.

The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) was founded on 25 June 1731 to "to promote and develop agriculture, arts, industry, and science in Ireland". The RDS is synonymous with its main premises in Ballsbridge in Dublin, Ireland. These premises include the "RDS Arena", "RDS Simmonscourt", "RDS Main Hall" and other venues which are used regularly for exhibitions, concerts and sporting events, including regular use by the Leinster Rugby team.
St Michael's College, Dublin
St Michael's College is a Catholic boys' school, located on Ailesbury Road in Dublin 4, Ireland. It was founded in 1944 by the Holy Ghost Fathers. St Michael's College was founded in 1944 by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (The Spiritans) as a second feeder school with Willow Park and initially was just a primary school to Blackrock College. The first eight students were transferred from Willow Park. The next September, 58 students were enrolled.
Nutley Lane
Nutley Lane, Dublin, Ireland is a road leading westwards from the Merrion Road at St. Vincent's Hospital and the Merrion Centre uphill past Elm Park Golf Club to the N11 Stillorgan Road at Montrose, the headquarters of the national broadcaster RTÉ . The bottom of Nutley Lane has often been flooded in the past and on at least one occasion, RTÉ have sent a camera crew out their front gates and down the hill to film a canoeist splashing around.
RDS Arena
RDS Arena is a multi-purpose sports stadium, owned by the Royal Dublin Society and located in the Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge, Ireland. The arena was originally developed to host equestrian events, including the annual Dublin Horse Show, which was first held there in 1868. The site was acquired in 1879 by the RDS. The primary tenants of the RDS are Leinster Rugby who compete in the Pro 12 and Heineken Cup. The arena has also hosted football, tennis and wrestling events as well as concerts.
UCD Quinn School of Business
The UCD Quinn School of Business (Scoil Ghnó Uí Chuinn, COBÁC), commonly The Quinn School, or simply Quinn, is the building in which the UCD School of Business's undergraduate programme is based. A short while after the building was named UCD reorganised its academic structure, moving from a system of faculties and departments to colleges and schools. This has caused some confusion over the standing of the Quinn "School" [sic sic].

St. Kilian's Deutsche Schule, also known as 'St. Kilian's German School', is a private, state-subsidised school situated in Clonskeagh, Dublin, Ireland. The institution has a Kindergarten, a primary school and a secondary school. It is a mixed school and is known mostly for mixing German and Irish culture. Clyde Road
Clyde Road runs from Wellington Place to a junction with Pembroke Road and Herbert Park in Ballsbridge. It intersects Raglan Road, Elgin Road and Wellington Road. It is named after Colin Campbell, 1st Baron Clyde (1792–1863), a Scottish soldier who fought in India during the Indian mutiny in 1857. Muckross Park College
Muckross Park College is a Catholic all-girls secondary school located in Donnybrook, Dublin 4, Ireland. Founded in 1901, the curriculum is traditional, with a broad general programme of subjects and a compulsory Transition year programme. Muckross is one of a number of Dominican schools in Ireland. It has a student body of approx 700. It has a strong reputation as a sporting school, especially in hockey, tennis and basketball.
Four Seasons Hotel Dublin
The Four Seasons Hotel Dublin is a luxury hotel located in Ballsbridge, on the south side of Dublin. Part of the Toronto based Four Seasons chain of luxury hotels and resorts, it is the only Four Seasons in Ireland and was one of the first Four Season hotels to operate in Europe. Built in 2001 with both Georgian and Victorian architecture in mind, the hotel is one of the Dublin's best known hotels and has been included in Travel and Leisure's Top 500 hotels on many occasions since its opening.
UCD Bowl
The UCD Bowl is a rugby union and football stadium in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland. It is the home ground of University College Dublin R.F.C. in the AIB All Ireland League and League of Ireland Premier Division side University College Dublin A.F.C.. It has also hosted training sessions for the Ireland national rugby union team and various touring international teams including the All Blacks. With its redevelopment complete, it now has capacity for 3,000 people, including 1,500 seats.
Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy
The Milltown Institute of Theology and Philosophy is an institution of higher education and research, located in Dublin, Ireland. Milltown is run by the Jesuits and is located in Milltown/Ranelagh in Dublin. Since 1997 it has been a recognised college of the National University of Ireland, under the 1997 Universities Act, the Irish government removed the ban on the NUI awarding degrees in Theology which had stood since its foundation and its predecessor the Royal University of Ireland.
