Institute of Technology Sligo (Irish: Institiúid Teicneolaíochta, Sligeach) (ITS) is a state funded third-level educational institution situated in the town of Sligo, Ireland. The Institute has three Schools and 9 Departments. The institute opened in 1970 as a Regional Technical College and adopted its present name on May 7, 1997. Professor Terri Scott has been Director of the Institute since October 2008 and Dr. Brendan McCormack is the current Registrar.

Hazelwood, County Sligo
Hazelwood (Irish: Coill an Eanaigh) is located just over 2 miles outside the town of Sligo in northwest Ireland, in the parish of Calry. It is the setting for W.B. Yeats's The Song of Wandering Aengus. The wood is situated on the shores of Lough Gill, which contains Yeats's Lake Isle of Innisfree, and is popular among tourists and locals for its scenic walks, which is dotted with sculptures; swans, mallards and gulls who congregate at the picnic area, and for the fishing on Lough Gill.

The Queen Maeve International Summer School, (Irish Scoil Samhraidh Miosgán Medbha) is one of Ireland's largest traditional music summer schools, held annually since 1999 and was founded by Sligo tin whistle player Carmel Gunning. During the week, students from around the world attend daily classes taught by experts in Irish music and dance. In addition, a full program of lectures, recitals, dances and exhibitions are run by the summer school.

The Collection was begun by Nora borrowing five works by Jack Yeats to exhibit for the duration of the first Yeats Summer School in 1959.
Calry/St. Joseph's GAA
Calry/St. Joseph's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Calry and the northern ward of Sligo, Republic of Ireland. The club was formally known as Calry Gaels until it became Calry/St. Joseph's in 1987 after a re-organisation of the GAA structures in the Sligo urban area. They have won 6 of the last 8 Sligo Senior Hurling Championships and played in 10 of the last 11 finals, winning in 2005 and again from 2007 to 2012 (Minus 2010).
