Periyar (river)
Periyar is a river that flows in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, India. It is one of the few perennial rivers in the region and provides drinking water for several major towns. The river is mostly located in Kerala and generates a significant proportion of that state's electrical power via the Idukki Dam. Due to these reasons, the river has been named the ‘Lifeline of Kerala’. It is the longest river and the river with the largest discharge potential in Kerala.
Pallipuram Fort
Pallippuram Fort is a fort in Ernakulam district of Kerala, south India. It was built by the Portuguese in 1503 and is the oldest existing European fort in India. The Dutch captured the fort in 1661 and sold it to the State of Travancore in 1789. This fort is situated in the northern extremity of the Vypeen island. This fort is in a hexagonal shape and popularly known as ayikkotta or Alikotta.

Muziris (in Roman sources, Mucciri in classical Tamil literature) was an ancient seaport and urban center in south-western India on the estuary of the Pseudostomos/Chulli River that existed from around the 1st century AD. Muziris has found mention in the classical Tamil Sangam literature and a number of ancient European historical sources.
Cheraman Juma Masjid
Cheraman Juma Masjid is a mosque in Methala, Kodungallur Taluk in the Indian state of Kerala. The Cheraman Masjid is said to be the very first mosque in India, built in 629 AD by Malik lbn Dinar. It is believed that this mosque was first renovated and reconstructed in the 11th century AD. Many non-Muslims conduct initiation ceremonies to the world of letters of their children here.
Cranganore Fort
Cranganore Fort, otherwise known as Kodungallur Fort, was built by the Portuguese in 1523 A.D. and was called Fortaleza da Sao Tome. The Dutch took possession of it in 1661 and later it came under the control of Tipu Sultan. The Dutch wrested it back from Tipu Sultan, but the fort eventually came under the control of Tipu, who destroyed it in the following year. The remains of the fort show that the original fort wall was 18 feet in thickness. The ruin is also known as Tipu’s fort.
Mahodayapuram
Mahodaya Puram (Mahodaya Pattanam, Makotai, probably Udagai) was the capital city of Chera dynasty between 8th and 12th century AD. It was spread around present day Kodungallur (Cranganore), Thrissur district, Kerala. The city was built around Tiruvanchikkulam temple and was protected by high fortress on all sides and had extensive pathways and palaces. The temple was a centre of Saivite cult in the early years of the Later Chera age.
Cheraman Parambu
Cheraman Parambu is generally regarded as the exact location of the Royal Palace of the Later Chera kings who ruled parts of present day Kerala and Tamil Nadu states of India between 9th and 12th century CE. Situated 3 k. m. south of present day Kodungallur in Methala, Kodungallur Taluk, Thrissur district Cheraman Parambu spans about 5 acres.
Basilica of Our Lady of Snow, Pallippuram
The Basilica of Our Lady of Snow, Pallippuram, Ernakulam, Kerala is a minor basilica. The Basilica Decree was issued on 27 August 2012. The raising of the Pallippuram church was officially announced at the conclusion of the silver jubilee celebrations of the diocese on October 7. The history of the Our Lady of Snow Church goes back five centuries when the Portuguese built a fort at Pallippuram and immediately followed it up with a church dedicated to Our Lady.
