Parassinkkadavu Snake Park is about 16 kilometres from Kannur town in the Kannur district of north Kerala, in south India. The Snake Park is in Parassinikkadavu, which is 2 kilometres from National Highway (NH) 17, en route from Kannur to Taliparamba, The park houses a variety of snakes and other small animals, including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell's viper, Krait and various pit vipers. There is also a large collection of non-venomous snakes including pythons.
Kannur University
Kannur University was established in 1996 to provide development of higher education in Kasaragod, Kannur, and Wayanad districts of Kerala, India. It was established after the passing of Act No. 22 of 1996 of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. A university by the name of "Malabar University" had come into existence even earlier by the passing of an ordinance by the Governor of Kerala, on 9 November 1995. Kannur University was inaugurated on 2 March 1996 by the Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala.

The Government Engineering College, Wayanad is an engineering college established and managed by the Government of Kerala, India. A new course on Electircal and Electronics Engineering started in 2010 with intake of another 60 students. The college is affiliated to Kannur University. The current Principal is Dr. Anil B, who is also the director of CERD.
