Zala (river)
The Zala is a river in south-western Hungary. Its source is in the hills on the borders with Austria and Slovenia. Its length is 139 km and drains water from 2,622 square km. Several smaller rivers feed into it, including the Felső-Válicka, Szentmihályfalvai patak (brook), Szévíz csatorna (channel), Foglár csatorna on the right bank, and Szentjakabi patak, Sárviz patak, Széplaki patak, Csörgető patak and Nádas patak on the left bank.
Badacsonytomaj
Badacsonytomaj, with 2,300 inhabitants, is located at the eastern foot of the vulcanic Badacsony hill along the Lake Balaton in Hungary. The greatest sight in the village is that of the hill itself, with its spectacular 60-70m high basalt organs. The region around the town is well known for its high quality Hungarian wines. The town's name was recently used in a viral promotion by Sony to promote a new feature in their PlayStation 3 Home Service.

Festetics Palace
The Festetics Palace is a Baroque palace located in the town of Keszthely, Zala county, Hungary. Its construction, started by Kristóf Festetics in 1745, lasted more than a century, during which the palace, built at first on the foundations of a ruined castle, was tripled in size, in two subsequent building campaigns, most recently in the 1880s, to designs by Viktor Rumpelmayer, living in Vienna.
Keszthely Synagogue
The Keszthely Synagogue is a synagogue in Keszthely, Hungary. The synagogue was originally built in 1852 in the neo-classical style. The shape was altered in 1894 when the building was remodeled in the spirit of eclecticism. In 1898 an organ built by Sándor Országh was installed. The building has undergone a number of renovations - in 1930, in 1945 and in 1967. In 1987 part of the ceiling collapsed and as a result planning began in 1991 to fully renovate the building.

Sümeg Castle
Sümeg Castle is a castle by the town of Sümeg, Veszprém county, Hungary. Built in the mid or late 13th century by Béla IV of Hungary, Sümeg Castle is situated atop a mountain called "Castle Hill", 20 miles north of Lake Balaton. During its existence, it has been expanded several times. In the 15th century, it was fortified, and the second of two towers was built. It has been under siege several times, and has experienced two fires. Today, it is the main tourist attraction for visitors to Sümeg.
