Ipeľ
Ipeľ or Ipoly is a 232 km long river in Slovakia and Hungary, tributary to the river Danube. Its source is in central Slovakia in the Slovenské rudohorie Mountains. It flows south to the Hungarian border, and then southwest, west and again south along the border until it flows into the Danube near Szob. Ipeľ flows through or makes border of Banská Bystrica and Nitra regions in Slovakia, and Nógrád and Pest counties in Hungary.

There are hiking possibilities Prédikálószék, Pám Ravine, Árpád-vár, Thirring Rock. Nearby larger settlements are Dömös and Szentendre.
Danube-Ipoly National Park
The Danube-Ipoly National Park is one of the most diverse national parks in Hungary. In 1997, the park was created from Pilis and Börzsöny national parks, with the addition of part of the floodplain of the River Ipoly. This park encompasses areas in Budapest, Pest County, Komárom-Esztergom County and Fejér County. Its offices are in Budapest and in the Jókai garden (Budapest XII), and its headquarters are in Esztergom.

Wonkwangsa International Zen Temple is a Korean-tradition zen temple and monastery located in Búbánatvölgy, a valley near Esztergom, Hungary. The temple is currently run by the Vice Abbot and House Master Dok Hae Sunim. There are lay residents living in the temple that perform various functions, such as Kitchen Master, Head Dharma-Teacher, Garden Master or Moktak Master. Fundraising for the project started in 2005.
