National Assembly (Hungary)
The National Assembly or Diet is the parliament of Hungary. The unicameral body consists of 386 members elected to 4-year terms. Election of members is based on a complex system involving both area and list election; parties must win at least 5% of the popular vote in order to enter list members the assembly (but area winners enter regardless). The Assembly includes 25 standing committees to debate and report on introduced bills and to supervise the activities of the ministers.

Magyar Televízió (or Hungarian Television) is the Hungarian national public service television company, with three TV channels, called M1, M2 and M3D. Until July 2002, when the Hungarian Socialist Party-Alliance of Free Democrats government took over the payment of licence fees from members of the public, MTV was funded by the levying of a television licence on all households with a television set.

Chain Bridge (Budapest)
The Széchenyi Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Designed by the English engineer William Tierney Clark, it was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849.
St. Stephen's Basilica
St. Stephen's Basilica is a Roman Catholic basilica in Budapest, Hungary. It is named in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (c 975–1038), whose right hand is housed in the reliquary. It was the sixth largest church building in Hungary before 1920. Today, it is the third largest church building in present-day Hungary.
Lipótváros
Lipótváros is a traditional neighbourhood in the city centre of Budapest, Hungary. It comprises the northern part of District V, north of the Belváros. Lipótváros was established in the early 19th century, and became the political centre of Hungary in the early 20th century when the Hungarian Parliament was moved to Kossuth Square. Many ministries followed in the later decades.
Hungarian National Bank
The Hungarian National Bank (Hungarian: Magyar Nemzeti Bank) is the central bank of Hungary. The principal aim of the bank is to retain price stability. It is also responsible for issuing the national currency, the forint, controlling the cash circulation, setting the Central Bank base rate, publishing official exchange rates and managing the national reserves of foreign currency and gold to influence exchange rates. It controls the country’s monetary policy.
Vörösmarty tér
Vörösmarty tér or Vörösmarty square is a small but popular square in the Budapest city centre at the northern end of Váci utca. At the centre of the square facing west is a large statue of poet Mihály Vörösmarty, on the pedestal of which people tend to congregate. Behind the monument is a small fenced park and a fountain flanked by stone lions. At the north end of the square is the famous Café Gerbeaud and stairs to the southern terminus of the Budapest Metro's venerable yellow line (M1).
Arany János utca (Budapest Metro)
Arany János utca is a station on the M3 (North-South) line of the Budapest Metro. It is located in District V under Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Street. Its single vestibule stands in Podmaniczky Frigyes Square. Saint Stephen's Basilica is a prominent landmark a block south of the station.

Lajos Kossuth Square (Hungarian: Kossuth Lajos tér or Kossuth tér) is situated in the Lipótváros neighbourhood of Budapest, District V, on the bank of the Danube. Its most notable landmark is the Hungarian Parliament Building . There is a station of the M2 (East-West) line of the Budapest Metro on the square.
Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út (Budapest Metro)
Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út (Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street) is a station of the yellow M1 (Millennium Underground) line of the Budapest Metro. It was named for Endre Bajcsy-Zsilinszky a member of the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party and leader of the resistance who was executed toward the end of the Second World War. Kossuth Bridge
The Kossuth Bridge or Kossuth híd was a bridge that stood over the river Danube in Budapest from 1946 January 15th to 1960. After the Soviet Red Army took Budapest in early 1945, they found all the city's five bridges had been blown up by retreating German troops. (Árpád hid was not blown-up, it was just incomplete, under construction).
Hungarian Parliament Building
The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, which translates to House of the Country) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube. It is currently the largest building in Hungary.
Gresham Palace
Gresham Palace or Gresham-palota, located in Budapest, Hungary, is an example of Art Nouveau architecture in Central Europe. Built in the early 1900s, it is now owned by an Irish company, Quinlan Private, and managed by Four Seasons Hotels.
Vigadó Concert Hall
Vigadó (usually translated as "Place for Merriment") is Budapest's second largest concert hall, located on the Eastern bank of the Danube in Budapest, Hungary. Although the acoustics are lacking, the building itself, designed by Frigyes Feszl in 1859, makes a bold impression along the Pest embankment. Built to replace another concert hall on the same site (which was destroyed by fire in the 1848 War of Independence) Feszl's Vigadó was also badly damaged, this time during World War II.
Kossuth Memorial
Kossuth Memorial is public monument dedicated to former Hungarian Regent-President Lajos Kossuth in front of the Hungarian Parliament Building on Lajos Kossuth Square in Budapest. The memorial is an important Hungarian national symbol and scene of official celebrations. After the death of Lajos Kossuth (21 March 1894) and his sumptuous funeral in Budapest a public subcription was almost immediately announced to build a memorial for the leader of the 1848 Revolution.
Glass House (Budapest)
During the Holocaust, the Swiss diplomat Carl Lutz helped Jews in Budapest in many ways, including protection at the legendary Glass House (Üvegház).

Shoes on the Danube Promenade
The Shoes on the Danube Promenade is a memorial concept by filmdirector Can Togay and was created by him and the sculptor Gyula Pauer on the bank of the Danube River in Budapest. It honors the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.

Café Gerbeaud, situated at Vörösmarty tér 7 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is one of the greatest and most traditional coffeehouses in Europe. Today still, it shines in Gründerzeit style with its stucco, the grand chandeliers, the panelling made of exotic woods and its furniture. In 2009 Café Gerbeaud opened its second confectionery in Tokyo, Japan.
