Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE is a football (soccer) club from the south-east Hungarian town Békéscsaba. The club was founded in 1912 as Előre Munkás Testedző Egyesület. The colours of the club are lilac and white. The club achieved its greatest success in 1988 when it won the Hungarian Cup competition, defeating Honved Budapest 3-2 in the final. Bodrog Monastery
The Hodoş-Bodrog Monastery is one of the oldest monastic institutions belonging to the Romanian Orthodox Church. The monastery is attested from the 12th century. It was initially founded on the northern bank of the lower Mureş River (in western Romania, between the current city of Arad and the Hungarian border). The Hodoş-Bodrog Monastery was first recorded in a charter document of the Arad chapter of the church, dated 1177. Other documents have been dated 1216, 1233, and 1278.

The Városi Sportcsarnok (English: Municipal Sports Hall) is a multi-use indoor stadium in Békéscsaba, Hungary. The arena, which has an oval shape, very similar to the Colosseum, was opened in 1988, and has been modernized and renovated for the 2004 European Women's Handball Championship, to fulfil the strict criterium of the European Handball Federation. It is the home ground of the local sports clubs, from which the best known is Békéscsabai Előre NKSE, that usually play in a sold out arena.
